What do you like best about the product?
I have been using MySQL from past 4 years and have used for to handle data sets for my projects. I like the MySQL as it is user friendly and has great performance. It is also widely adopted by various companies to manage the data. Also, support is readily available for MySQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
MySQL can handle virtually limitless amount of information but if it is forced to deal with too many operations at one time then the performance degrades or MySQL becomes unstable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using MySQL for my projects such as E commerce website and have been storing information in the database using MySQL. I realized that the syntax of using MySQL is pretty much easier as compared to programming languages such as Java.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend to use MySQL for managing the database for your projects.

Easy queries and easy retrieval is what I like the most.

Slow retrieval is what I most dislike in this application.

Writing to the database. Also, able to read and modify to the tables

MySQL is a super efficient relational database that is currently being used by organizations. It is light weight and has better performance than other DBs

I like the performance and manageability of MySQL database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our OLTP system and customer information.
The best database engine
What do you like best about the product?
In our opinion, it is the best database engine. In fact, its versatility is undeniable. It's no wonder that it is used in the largest content management software like Wordpress.
What do you dislike about the product?
The less favorable aspect of this tool is the difficulty in obtaining support directly from the manufacturer. Most of the time, we have to resort to blogs or forums on the subject to solve problems or clear up some doubts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Without MySQL, it would be more difficult to keep the company running. We would have to opt for other solutions that require more financial resources.

More support for the end user. For example, through a chat system.

What do you like best about the product?
The fact a software of this calibre is available without initial cost still astounds me. Many of the features you want/need in a relational database server are available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of documentation on some of the utilities and more advanced features/functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many of our websites utilize MySQL for content management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Being it is free, there is little to get started. I highly recommend it to replace any software you are currently paying for.

MySQL is open source so we are easily able to implement it across servers quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much I don't like about MySQL. Really no complaints at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use MySQL on all of our hosted solutions servers. Very easy to implement and maintain. Have been using MySQL for many, many years and find it to be a very reliable solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend whole heartily as it has stood the test of time, and performed for us year after year.

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is very effective, easily manageable, reliable, secure and compatible with many platforms. Easy to learn for beginners. It supports all the popular languages such as Ruby, PHP, AJAX. It is very flexible and scalable as you can configure your back end with additional features.
What do you dislike about the product?
User defined functions and stored procedures are little difficult to handle in MySQL. It has poor documentation. Creating PL/SQL procedures is not as easy as it is in other systems. It doesn't work efficiently for large database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Database management, data analysis, client-server functionalities, data archiving
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Mongo for NoSQL applications and MySQL for organized, hierarchial databases.
