How easy it is to learn and teach the syntax

So far, it's been a good product to use. We're just waiting to finish another aspect of our project to use the product

What do you like best about the product?
I like its High performance that facilitates IT professional like me to configure the MySQL database server for a flawless performance. Also, it is the only DBMS where the average download and installation time is less than 30 mins.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although MySQL is relatively easy to setup , it tends to have less out of the box functionality than many other database systems on the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was looking for a product for my team which is easy to use and easy to setup. and MySQL has solved that problem with ease.

Please try it, it is so easy t use and setup.
Journey to Mysql
What do you like best about the product?
Oracle bought MySql and it is limited Open Source product means if u want GUI tools then we need to buy licensed version. It is very easy to setup, maintain,upgrade and apply patches. New features for every release.IT works very well web applications like PHP, etc.. It has different types of sql engines like InnoDB wtc., based on our requirement we can select the engine we want to run. We can have any number of configuration files .IF you buy licensed version you will monitoring tool which monitors the databases and servers. It has option to track slow queries also
What do you dislike about the product?
It cannot handle large database transactions and it is not for large sized transactions.
Caching and partitioning could be an issue.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have very small databases in our company which has very less transactions So we decided to invest less money on this. We went to latest verison and took licensed version which is less than oracle db. We have many php applications for that backend is mysql db.

The huge support for MySQL is the deciding factor.

As always, some personal/specific GUI adjustments would be nice but it's served its purpose for projects very well

What do you like best about the product?
it is open source, therefore, you paid no price. Also, it has a lot of existing forum such as stackoverflow and other communities to support the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
you can't use it to handle very large data set. In this case, you should consider Hadoop. Scalability is the main issue for MySQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
data storage and data retrieval to get historical data for analysis

it is a popular choice for a non-oracle database

The fact that many people use it and that it is so present in a large part of web developments makes software providers try to make their applications compatible with this DB, thus being able to find many applications for MySQL.

There are important features that, although sometimes not used much, can end a project due to the need for their use.

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to manage and is an open source

PHPMyAdmin interface performs action by refreshing page which is very cumbersome.

We are using it to fulfill our need of RDBMS. It is free and perfectly fits for developing applications which are not greatly funded.

Easy to write SQL commands and very good graphical user Interface to interact with the server.

Sometimes, It used to take lot of CPU time.

Going through the documentation is sometimes a pain.

lightweight SQL platform that ports to different OSes, so it's easy to move clients from one provider to another.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you whish to manage MySQL from a GUI, consider either PHPMyAdmin or HeidiSQL... those are really helpful!

The creation of entity-relationship models is very visually appealing and easy to link.
What do you dislike about the product?
To change the database connection, sometimes if you are a beginner, it is very difficult to get the hang of it.

Creation of databases.

There are better ones, but to start, it's fine.
