What do you like best about the product?
Well MYSQL was the industry standard for relational databases. So it is being used industry wide in every company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well there are many more new databases without relational model and are being now increasingly being used in industry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Which were companies needed database right from 1990 were using relational databases and that time MYSQL was as its peak and was used by every company to scaled their databases and hence it came a greal deal for us as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your company still uses relational databases then it would be the right tool to use...go for it.

Strong active community, inexpensive setup, scalable.

Scaling is hard to achieve as compared to other managed services.

Problems solved: Business data store needs and ways to organize and query them.

Simple, Easy to Use Software
What do you like best about the product?
I just love how easy to use, yet robust, MySQL is. I have integrated it in many websites and it works flawlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't found anything I don't like yet.

Helps with simple database capabilities for websites.

Perfect for implementation with websites. Seamless flow with .NET.
One of the simplest and most powerful SQL Servers.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the implementation is based on published standards and it handles migrations smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Windows port is a bit clunky. This is obviously for Unix/Linux.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are running most of our databases on MySQL now. It is much lower maintenance than MS-SQL.

It's very easy to script across multiple databases. The commands seem very simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I dislike about the interface.

Database Management and Backend Testing. The user interface is very easy to learn even for novice programmers.
Great list sql database tool for lite projects

Great lightweight inexpensive database tool for any database project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as robust as microsoft SQL, security holes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for test Website databases, so you dont burn up microsoft sql licenses.

Great for small personal projects and testing enviroments.
Great SQL for Quick Development
What do you like best about the product?
It’s quick to setup and get started. Since it can store the tables locally, I love using it for quick proofs of concept or learning purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’m not a huge fan of the SQL Workbench GUI. It’s not very user friendly. Sometimes the MySQL installation breaks and you have to reinstall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In a large company, you often can’t just quickly create new database tables. MySQL allows me to quickly and easily test database ideas locally or provide a db for a proof of concept I’m working on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don’t have experience using MySQL as our main database for our applications, but it is fantastic for doing quick ideas or small learning projects. Could not recommend enough for personal use.

It is easy to use, easy to setup. It once was opensource, which made it even better.
What do you dislike about the product?
Now that Oracle owns the license I worry that it will no longer be free.

Mostly used for instruction although I have also used it for some consulting work regarding survey collectiion

What do you like best about the product?
There are several database servers nowadays. While the others are more sophisticated, MySQL does everything that others can while being very simple to manage.
MySQL does not have much overhead, thus on a dedicated server, it can use the resources optimally.

There is nothing in MySQL I do not like. I have been using it for every personal project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MySQL server is used by me to store a huge amount of data (more than 100GB) and let me tell you, still it is scaling perfectly.
The InnoDB storage engine has no match. I have used table partitions a lot to manage such a big dataset.

MySQL can solve every data storage related problem. Perform thorough research, look for community support, before giving up.
