The default Database

  • December 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Highly reliable, flexible, with a really big community behind it. Every developer I've interviewed has shown knowledge of this database. There are lots of services to support it by every cloud provider or hosting provider. There are even implementations with fully backup schemas, one plus one configuration, and multi-site synchronization.
You can implement from docker repositories, bitnami stacks, or all in box solutions. Even installing from the OS is easy and fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited in database functions (compare to other solutions)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to structure a lot of data sets and as the back end for lots of apps.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a lightweight database engine, fully documented, and easy to understand for your developers (hey there is a high chance that they are already experts on this) this is the way to go. It will support several TB of data without hesitation and it is well supported by every cloud service and hosting provider I've meet.

  • December 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

The multiple ways to connect to the database and easy of use
What do you dislike about the product?
Syntax. It's a SQL database why can't it have the same syntax as it's bigger brothers.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pick your desired interface and stick with it. Master the Admin and User interfaces first.

MySQL for SaaS

  • December 08, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is working great for us especially with Node and elasticsearch
What do you dislike about the product?
When I upgraded to Mac OS High Sierra, suddenly it is not working
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software as a service business
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This era with shiny tools, one of those is MongoDB but I can say it is not a one-size fit all solution. On our app, we highly require referential integrity between our data and MySQL provides it.

MySQL - Database Management at it's best

  • November 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is secure, reliable and won't lose your information unless you lose it yourself.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can seem tedious to try and and do the back-end programming if you are inexperienced in several web programming languages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a client manager we often design our own database systems to match the information gathering and needs of the clients, verses using pre-made system that costs us and our clients extra money. Our goal is to focus on providing same great service, with a lesser cost overall.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MySQL is not only a great place to start when you want to learn back-end database management and programming for websites, as well as software solutions, it is also secure, reliable and worth every moment of time spent learning the system. MySQL Is also affordable and provides the greatest coverage available in service, and security.
