This era with shiny tools, one of those is MongoDB but I can say it is not a one-size fit all solution. On our app, we highly require referential integrity between our data and MySQL provides it.

MySQL - Database Management at it's best
What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is secure, reliable and won't lose your information unless you lose it yourself.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a client manager we often design our own database systems to match the information gathering and needs of the clients, verses using pre-made system that costs us and our clients extra money. Our goal is to focus on providing same great service, with a lesser cost overall.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MySQL is not only a great place to start when you want to learn back-end database management and programming for websites, as well as software solutions, it is also secure, reliable and worth every moment of time spent learning the system. MySQL Is also affordable and provides the greatest coverage available in service, and security.
MySQL a powerful and versatile DB engine
What do you like best about the product?
Mysql is very powerful, and best of all is multi platform, easy implementation in windows, linux and osx. Also is very powerful in shared web hosting or dedicated servers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Is not as well adopted as others DB engines. Other DB engines are more popular than MySQL, for example: PGSQL, Oracle, Maria DB. Each one for different reasons: support, easy to use, price, administration tools, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we resolved with MySQL are Data Storage for company web services, cms and crm.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best open source DB engine in the market, simple, easy to use and free

Solution Development via Applications. We have a DBMS that helps with our solution development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great Database Management System and inexpensive.
Great database for web applications
What do you like best about the product?
It is open source and I can use it to represent mostly any business relations as required. It is available in multiple platforms and provides multiple storage and indexing features. In spite of being a structured database, it also has option to store and perform CRUD operations on JSON data. This not only makes it good for structured data, but also makes it usable for application that requires combination of structured and non-structured data.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, I've had difficulty maintaining up-time of server where there were relatively large queries sent to mysql. There is a big room to improve its performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are developing web applications and APIs for our customers and users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend MYSQL for any small to medium sized application. It is free and open source, runs on multiple platforms, and is easy to set up and get going with.
Excellent DB software.
What do you like best about the product?
I use MySQL for many web applications. Software is prebuilt into many solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as versatile as ms sql. The newer versions of MySQL are stronger but they still aren’t comparable to oracle or ms sql.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use MySQL for our backend of our help desk solution. The benefits are stringy around cost of ownership.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Free versions usually work great.
