MySQL a powerful and versatile DB engine

Mysql is very powerful, and best of all is multi platform, easy implementation in windows, linux and osx. Also is very powerful in shared web hosting or dedicated servers.

This not only makes it good for structured data, but also makes it usable for application that requires combination of structured and non-structured data.
