Mysql, the database for all
What do you like best about the product?
Mysql is the database that adapts to all web servers for linux, easy to install and maintain as well as good performance. You have to take into account that mysql has been evolving for years, which is why I consider it a fairly mature product.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things that I did not like about mysql is that if one makes a backup and then wants to restore to another server with a different version, it can cause incompatibility problems. For that it is necessary to have greater knowledge in mysql.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With mysql I have solved the problems when selecting a database for an application. For example, all shared servers with a good price have mysql installed by default. It is also a good ally when it comes to using php. For some reason mysql is the default database in many hosting companies that include cpanel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Mysql is the best database for a website especially if you are going to work with php, but also its support and use is very good in other frameworks such as django and ruby on rails
MySQL is the most popular and best choice for a database for most projects of a variety of scales.
What do you like best about the product?
This is most likely the best choice for a database system/language, for a project that can be of almost any size. MySQL is extremely effective, optimized, and most of the time, simply-to-use, which makes it an obvious choice for companies in their early stages that are searching for a database system that is easy to integrate with their product. Since this product is free, it is especially nice that there is a lot of functionality for a database system/engine like this. Oracle, who acquired MySQL a while back, also has been really good at keeping the product up-to-date and making sure that a skilled team of engineers are constantly checking on the issues submitted by independent developers. The other great thing: Unlike other database engines, MySQL is designed to focus on big data, especially for web dev, which provides a great opportunity for a platform that is easily scaleable, has great data integrity, and is extremely easy to integrate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The language in itself I believe is poorly designed, as the syntax and queries are often quite difficult to use. In terms of it being a relational database, MySQL is seriously lacking behind its competitors, since its syntax makes it a lot more difficult to implement complex relational databases compared to similar products/competitors like NoSQL. Lastly, since Oracle acquired MySQL, and although they have been really good at staying invested in the product, MySQL is not as community-driven as it's competitors and isn't the way MySQL was before. This can pave a lot of problems for companies not wanting to transition DBMSs if it becomes the case that Oracle wants change the product in a major way without asking the feedback of developers and the community that uses MySQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is a great product for any company to have. Especially, if the engineering teams do not foresee having to deal with relational databases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Like I've mentioned before, MySQL is a great place to start for companies that don't foresee using relational databases. MySQL is extremely great for its lack of a price.
Best option for RDB
What do you like best about the product?
Traditional, simple, easy for complex queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. Compared to NoSQL, it may be speed. If you define your db carefully, this shortcoming can be mitigated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business data.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Must go for it, those who are techies, it's a must for them and those who are learning, it's a great career move and all the best for your MYSQL experience.
Mysql and PostgreSQL. The two most popular databases I met in my work.
What do you like best about the product?
It's so popular. So, when I face some issues about MySQL, google always can help me to find that some other people got similar problems before and they already fixed the problem with good and detailed answers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somehow, my team prefer to PostgreSQL. But I didn't find big issues with MySQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team use PostgreSQL and MySQL. These two databases are very stable.

absolutely yes! MySQL and PostgreSQL. They are must-have!
MySQL Relational Database for Web Applications
What do you like best about the product?
MySQL being an opensource Relational Database Management System, provides ease of use. MySQL has cross platform support on which implementation and integration would not be a problem. I like the ease of connection to other programming languages and also management of large data.
It is best partnered with other open source products.
It is best partnered with other open source products.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though MySQL has many features it isn't a compliant for full SQL standards, though there are workarounds but still it would be better to adhere to SQL standards. Sometimes when query gets too large and the system is using sub selects, it is being of very slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company is looking for a good relational database management system that would meet the needs of the company, it should be low cost in the initial stage so not to incur so much costing compared to other solutions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend MySQL as the Relational Database Management System for small to medium enterprises. The best open source relational database management system.
Very Easy to use for a beginner, but has Advance features for Advanced Users
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about MySQL is that its robust and works well for some who is entry level in DBA.
What do you dislike about the product?
What i dislike about MySQL is the limitations the software in comparison to Orcale packages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It doesn't do row level locking,
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you dont need something not as comprehensive as Orcale go with MySQL.
a great RDBMS platform for any usecase
What do you like best about the product?
Most popular DB. Very easy to use.
Very huge online help to follow and master MySQL.
Light weight, simple and all great features to use.
Very good at partitioning, MySQL use MySQL Cluster for horizontal clustering.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such. There is some uncertainty regd licensing. MySQL is controlled by Oracle. Good optimization needed for querying very huge tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used to store huge amounts of data. To support internal data analysis, also to support web applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One of the very common DB to use. This can satisfy any user requirement most of the times.
MySQL - Easy to use, beginners and advanced alike
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of MySQL is that I can have an inexperienced person up and running their own queries using filter in minutes - no SQL knowledge required. The filters allow for basic searching and data dumps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike. The software is easy to use, layout is great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use MySQL to view base data and to provide the ability to others who are not tech savy. Having a easy to use platform has made others feels more in tune to the data they pull and has empored them to be part of the team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great product, you wont be disappointed.
