Great Database
What do you like best about the product?
This is an amazing database! Not only is it reliable but It has great features that make it easy to store data and use multiple languages. It's easy to customize and I love that it is compatible with Linux as that is what I primarily use. Also, it is great that there is a community still involved in this software who are able to teach new (or even experienced) people using PostgreSQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had some issues with PostgreSQL running a little slow and I'm not a huge fan of all of the syntax, as some of it seems a bit counterintuitive. As a result, I think it is pretty difficult to use as a beginner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an intern, I primarily used PostgreSQL to manage simple tasks under some guidance. However, even in that role I could tell that it is a very powerful database with a lot of benefits to someone who knows how to use it.
PostgreSQL is very Effective in data strorage and retrival of information
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity in the software, it detects IP addresses automatically without manual configurations which can be hectic to the technician.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it gets disconnected to the database and one has to configure it a fresh in order to collect information from the database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it to to store data of a management software that we design to our clients

PostgreSQL is very user friendly as even learners can use with with no experience at all i would strongly recommend it to Others
Amazing Database
What do you like best about the product?
The huge library of functions make it easier for the user to implement his required functionality without writing custom queries. PostgreSQL used to lag when it comes to speed performance but now that it has updated it is fast enough.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation and Example is not extensive. PHP my Admin tool is not very user friendly . I have personally used the phpMyAdmin and was disappointed . PHP Storms inbuilt database plugin is much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used postgreSQL for building real estate application and have seen a number of advantages over other SQL databases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should use PostGreSQL when your database is complicated and requires a lot of joins. Ofcourse the choice of database depends on the user and the functionality. I would still recommend PostGreSQL to others.
Open Source Database Excellence
What do you like best about the product?
PostgreSQL is free, simple to use and has a great graphical user interface that is not clunky and confusing like some of the competition.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest detractor for the software for me is the support documentation. Typically open source products have better support databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had been using PostreSQL for working with LMS integration data as PostreSQL is less cumbersome to work with than the native SQL software.

Partitioning is not as good as Oracle. PostgreSQL slows down when joining very large fact tables in VLDB environment.

Postgres makes tracking and sorting data easy while also being able to creat complicated data

The dashboard for pgadmin is somewhat difficult to use

PostgresSQL with Greenplum
What do you like best about the product?
The greenplum database running PostgreSQL is a good database for large workloads that run on massively parallel databases like Greenplum. I can distribute the tables by a certain column identifier and be able to link different tables together for efficient workloads.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the PGAdmin III interface which is made for PostgreSQL developers because it's an old program and the new one, PGAdmin 4 does not support older versions of PostgreSQL databases. Version compatibility is a big deal and my company still uses the older version of PostgreSQL so I am stuck with using an older version of the application to manage the database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostgreSQL has been able to help us conduct data quality operations and archive data in an efficient manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For companies considering PostgreSQL, you need to seriously consider the backend provider whether it be Greenplum/Pivotal or Amazon, you must make the proper selection that will be sufficient for the data that you are working with. With Amazon Web Services, it becomes price efficient to run these databases in the cloud at a reasonable cost with great efficiency.
PostgreSQL MPP database review
What do you like best about the product?
Performance. This is the promise of a MPP and PostGreSQL lives up to its promise. Also frequent releases adds more and more features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. A little more UI tools would be useful. Also the provision to support more external tables will definitely help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use PostGresql to create external tables to data residing on In memory distributed Grid
