Most advanced and efficient open-source database
What do you like best about the product?
Extensible, efficient, supports SQL, Mongo and NoSQL as well. It is open-source so there is no cost involved. Online community for PostgreSQL is excellent, leading to better support. It is second to none in terms of reliability and stability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Slower than MySQL. Installation and configuration can be difficult to grasp at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building reliable, stable, and scalable database capabilities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Following tutorials for installation and configuration are a major boost. Online community helps to solve problems.

Best free sql db out there. Reasonably easy to manage, quick.

Don't really have many complaints about the system, security could be better.

Free sql db's are a game changer. SQL server is on its way out in my opinion

Free code database manager
What do you like best about the product?
Free database manager, with only download and install you can have the world of databases in full, with the best options of any proprietary driver, it is easy to install especially in free operating systems, it is ideal for database relational data, in terms of support, the best ally is the community of people who help others through forums, it is compatible with several graphic tools if they do not like to use the console, configuring a cluster is super simple and on the Internet the information works wonderfully with large databases.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you use postgres by console and not with any graphical tool such as pgadmin or dbeaver you must have intermediate knowledge, you may notice some slowness in massive insertions but this is related to the good design of the database
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work daily in the management of postgres databases, used the console for backup and restore issues since they are much faster
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The administration of a postgres cluster is great, we can synchronize a slave and a master and it works perfectly the synchronization and replication

What do you like best about the product?
It is Open source so free to use and install

Nothing much but PostgreSQL tool UI is not user friendly

I used it always for our Pega personal edition. It is very useful for a developer
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are working on Pega Tools then installing Postgre is highly recommended. Also if you want to do some POC you can do in postgre as it is free.
Great product for many use cases
What do you like best about the product?
I have used it for extremely small projects, and extremely large projects. The ability to drill down in the config to make sure to use resources carefully or the ability to just get it working has been really convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a pretty good learning curve to be able to become very proficient with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It fills our needs as far as a database is related.
PostgreSQL - The perfect database for our needs
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best feature of it is it's array datataype. We needed to define a table with a huge amount of floating data fields/columns. The normal column amount was restricted to 1300 fields. For our use case we needed more and dynamically. Postgresql offered us the array datatype double which doesn't restrict us in the amount of values and can easily be accessed by it's index.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inhouse db managment tool is a bit slow and buggy. A shame they don't deliver one useful one with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The dynamic calculation of business benchmarks can be achieved comfortable.

The price and features are unbeatable.
High performant MPP - Postgres
What do you like best about the product?
The parallel processing capability and scalability of PostgreSQL. Opensource

It could have more monitoring tools as provided by other implementations of PostgreSQL

We are creating external tables to load data from our in memory distributed data grids and provide SQL interface to our Tableau reports.

Improve the monitoring and reporting features.

What do you like best about the product?
Compared to Oracle, Postrges seems to be more forgiving to first-time sql users. The statements allowed by Postgres are more logical and structured which really makes sense to most sql users when they first get started.
What do you dislike about the product?
Postgres has a lot of functions and packages that you can add to extend the core functionality, but those addons are usually hyped by web forms. It's usually not something that a non- db admin can do. Materialized views and time functions that are really helpful for marketing or data transference require someone who knows what they're doing, but those online articles don't make that clear. You'll really need to partner with a pro to make sure you get the most performant system while also adding any packages or functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest benefit is the performance and ease of use to get off the ground.

Really read thru the addons because it can do a lot, but you'll need some help.
