Intricacy leads to more issues
What do you like best about the product?
Joomla is a really robust platform with lots of available plugins — you can accomplish a lot with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The size of Joomla is also it's downfall. It's trying to do too many things for too many people. The content and navigation systems are clunkier than WordPress and we've struggled to combat SEO issues that result from the organization of pages/content/categories/items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to build websites almost exclusively on Joomla, but as SEO became a big consideration and WordPress improved, we eventually switched over almost entirely.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a relatively simple website, then Joomla is probably more than you need.

What do you like best about the product?
Joomla is a free and user friendly content management system. It has an outstanding graphic user interface for managing a large number of articles. It is also capable of supporting e-commerce. Also, it is easily customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
In Joomla additional modules available are quite limited. The adjustment options for your site are quite limited. Automatic update abilities are not available in Joomla.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Joomla offers free video training classes. It also allows image editing options. You can also change the layout of your website.
Easy Set-up but Learning Curve to Design in it
What do you like best about the product?
Joomla is an easy set-up; and once you know their system, simple to maintain. It has a lot of plug-ins that make it simple to create a stunning web site.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve to this software. I suggest getting a book or finding a good site that will walk you through the steps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to design and maintain our web sites with ease. It has made it so I don't need a full-time programmer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A solid software program that will give you the flexibility of designing and maintaining without needing an outside programmer. There is a learning curve so be prepared to spend a couple of days initially to get things started. Once you master the program, the possibilities are endless as there are many plugins that work within it.

I liked the way Joomla works, I can put many things to take control of a school, homework, exams, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a little complicated for me to configure what I needed at the beginning, I had to make the students upload their assignments and perform exams from there, but with the practice I was achieving that very quickly, and I loved it.

He helped me to take control of students I had, to be able to evaluate them with tests and tasks and I was facilitated with Joomla

A good Framework to build Content management system websites
What do you like best about the product?
Joomla is a popular CMS framework in php. I worked on Joomla for 3 to 4 years. By using Joomla we get lots of free and paid templates online, there on we can customize the selected template based on the user requirement. We can create our own customized Component, plugin and module in Joomla. We can create our own positions in template html by adding the new html under template html file. Using Joomla we can have two interfaces one for user and one for admin. For both interfaces we can create our own customized components, modules and plugins.
What do you dislike about the product?
As i worked on Joomla few years back by that time i was facing some security reasons. Other than that i didn't face any issues regarding the Joomla.Apart from Joomla in market lots of CMS frameworks on php are available like Word press and Drupal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Worked on lots of Content management system website for business ,apart from that i worked on eCommerce website by using Joomla component.Mostly i worked on Joomla for content management system websites for solving the business problems.

I would recommend to my friends and colleagues to use Joomla to build any CMS websites. I suggest my friend startup companies to start working with Joomla to build the CMS based websites.

What do you like best about the product?
It’s pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it, and the only thing you need to know about uploading a blog is to simply copy paste the content and hitting on the publish button.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unlike WordPress, Joomla! has a much more limited marketplace for additional modules and add-ons.

Joomla! has a handful of available extensions for e-commerce, allowing you to manage your products and content all in one place.

Joomla- stuck in the past
What do you like best about the product?
Joomla has its benefits, especially for user management and user roles. This ability is a native feature of the CMS, unlike other platforms like WordPress (which typically requires additional plugins to manage complex user roles, and thus is more vulnerable to security attacks). I've also found Joomla to be more widely-used overseas, so that does give it some cred as an international CMS.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, Joomla is difficult to teach administrator users, hasn't updated the look and feel of it's Admin dashboard to meet modern UI standards, and doesn't have as many integrations and plugins available as other CMS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Joomla is primarily used as a CMS for our client's websites. As a web design agency, we built websites using open-source CMS such as Joomla. We do work with several nonprofit organizations located in Europe and Africa, and they tend to ask us about using Joomla for their sites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You may want to take into consideration how disruptive CMS updates are when selecting Joomla vs. another open-source CMS. In comparison to WordPress, Joomla requires much more labor to upgrade your website to the latest version of the CMS software.
