What do you like best about the product?
Joomla provides an easy-to-configure front end for us to manage a database that isn't integrated with our current web platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to dislike with this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a store locator database that was hosted by our previous order management/web application provider. When we moved to a new platform, this database couldn't be accommodated in the platform. We used Joomla to build a new database as well as a front end to manage it, and then integrated the locator information into our web site. Without it, we would have had to invest far more money and time to build the integration in our new platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Joomla is anything you want it to be - it is very flexible and easy to work with. It's also easy to integrate into existing web platforms, so you don't need to make customizations to you existing platform. It's great for small projects that don't fit into the mold of the huge platforms.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to build and maintain a website. There are lots of extensions to choose from to customise your website just the way you want it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most extensions and templates to Joomla require payment. However because the initial management system is free this is a small price to pay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of our customers looking for a cheaper option rather than a monthly paid eCommerce platform. Joomla is idea for these customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend this software to customers wanting to cost save and ease of use without always needing a developer - such as non for profit organisations
Joomla is a great Website CMS
What do you like best about the product?
Super easy to use, great template choices, ability to get an entire website up and running within an hour or less! The addition of free extensions and modules is fantastic and enable one to create a professional looking website for a fraction of the cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
The potential for hackers that constantly try to attack the backend of the website can be draining, when attempting to maintain the website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I started out coding my websites using HTML, so when I found Joomla, it enabled me to setup an entire website within an hour. Joomla makes SEO a breeze, because one can post articles in advance, complete with meta tags, and request they post on specific dates, so your content is always kept fresh. Consequently, your webmaster is not forced to work on the site every single day, to try and refresh content and articles!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As with anything, using Joomla will require a bit of a learning curve. But once installed, just go through the panel and play with all the various elements, and you'll figure it out. Be sure to go to joomla . org and read up on using the CMS. Also - add lots of the free components, modules and plugins (extensions) which will improve your site. I also recommend using a free program called "Akeeba" (you can find it online) which, once installed, will backup your Joomla site completely. Install that immediately. That way, if you mess up your site while working on it, you can easily get it back up and running within minutes.

What do you like best about the product?
the best thing about Joomla is that it is free and opensource so i like to contribute then i can develop and help the community. This makes the price of a product much cheaper and this doesn't mean that it is not that best it provides all the features packed in itself like security and UI/UX.

What do you dislike about the product?
what i dislike about it that it requires so much of plugins which make it a little complex to use. and the customization also limits a user to design or do the changes according to his/her desire
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can achieve the results so much faster using this tool and deployed so much of applications already so overall i am using it for web development and similar tasks

The interface and ability to add plugins was better (easier to use) than many other solutions I've encountered

In my case, the ecommerce side of things got too complex. We needed features that simply weren't available off the shelf from any developer

Make sure there are plugins available to do the things you need it to do, unless you plan on developing it yourself. Try to consider what you might need in a few years rather than simply right now.

Lo que más me gusta es la cantidad de complementos compatibles y la fluidez de todo fluye cuando hay varios usuarios en el servidor al mismo tiempo.

El back-end, donde la mayor parte del tiempo de un administrador de aplicaciones web necesita más trabajo, a pesar de que fue una gran mejora en comparación con las versiones anteriores (especialmente 1.5) todavía se siente antinatural o incluso torpe a veces, pero esto es todo desapareció tan pronto como te acostumbras. Hace años fue un gran CMS, pero en la actualidad esta superado por otras plataformas. Wordpress ofrece mucho más contenido y facilidad de uso. Tiene sus ventajas, pero actualmente está anticuado.

Le falta ponerse al día respecto a sus competidores. poco contenido y la comunidad no apoya la plataforma como hace años.

No lo recomiendo. Es mejor usar Wordpress y apoyarse en Prestashop u otras plataformas. Joomla actualmente está un poco abandonado bajo mi punto de vista.
