High Performance
What do you like best about the product?
Great and competent people there. And whenever the Supportteam doesn’t know further, there is a short chat to the developers to find a solution. There is always someone to talk to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prices were quite high at the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using varnish in commercial and open source in many different applications.

Best software for CDN
What do you like best about the product?
The software is configurable in many ways and for everything there is a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some things are hard to find. Because you can configure a lot, you need to find out how you do that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are running a CDN with all the whistles, so we use it all over the world. It has token support, it has HA, it's highly configurable, its useable for every domain we use it for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at it and start using it. Support is amazing from Varnish, they help with everything!

I particularly appreciate Varnish's speed.

It's not really a dislike, but the VCL needs to be learned first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Varnish for Caching before a slow backend.

Responsive support
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using their varnish cache reverse proxy server for one of my project. At the beginning, they provided dedicated personal support personnel on setting up the servers. Subsequent requests were handled prompt. I have a very positive experience working with the dev and support teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up varnish proxy cache is still quite some technical. My project provide hosting service to various different kind of website, where a lot of those had quite unique situation which requires some customization handling work at VCL code level. So, using Varnish even though through a lot of tools provided by Varnish Software, is still a very tech-savvy task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Websites sluggishness. Some of the websites have significant performance increase and better user experience.

The website world grows more competitive every day. Varnish is a simple way to set your site apart from the majority of sites out there. This aggressive caching machine helps take your site speed to the next level. Anyone who fights for search engine rankings knows even the smallest leg up on the sites above you can help. Site speed matters in 2020 and Varnish Cache gives you just that.
What do you dislike about the product?
The caching is quite aggressive. This is not the easiest install. The devs at Varnish are fantastic and will work with you to get it all configured, but you will definitely need an experienced developer on your team to work hand in hand with them to get this installed. You will also likely have to make some changes on your site to accommodate for this aggressive cache
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Site speed. Search Engine Rankings. Take your site to the top level. Multi-million dollar web apps use Varnish, there is a reason for that. It is one of the most aggressive caching systems out there but one of the most important features your site must-have if you are looking to have your website running at peak performance.

If you are looking to speed your site up, to match what most industry leaders are doing, Varnish is the ticket.

The responsiveness and knowledge of the support guys. The thoroughness and technical details of their replies. The reply speed and the desire to help with various examples.

The lack of pre build scripts in Terraform or Cloudformation to raise a Varnish Cluster
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Caching of multiple websites by using a Varnish cluster with a single load balancer as entry point, VCL as management of the caching settings and of the backends and multiple internal load balancers, each covering a different website with different traffic patterns, all served by a single cluster of 3 Varnish servers managed by the VCAdmin interface.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time to understand and build a proper cluster, it will work flawlessly after that.
