Reliable but buggy at times
What do you like best about the product?
Veritas Netbackup supports large environments with a variety of backup methods.
What do you dislike about the product?
Has quite a few bugs. Hard to get them resolved quicker from support.

Veritas Netbackup is a great and strong tool for backups for organizations.
What do you like best about the product?
Currently, information for companies is a vital issue and of great importance due to the value it has, that is why tools such as Veritas offer a powerful way of managing and configuring all backups that are carried out within an organization of efficient and controlled way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that what I like least about using this tool is that it can sometimes become complex when configuring the agents on the computers from which backups are required to be extracted, making the process a bit long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped me a lot, in the orderly and flawless storage of company files and data, being able to establish long-term backup policies and when looking for them to get them without incident.

Veritas is the best tool on the market today for backups and recovery.

What do you like best about the product?
A great interactive graphical user interface. Easy to design main communications and media servers. Autoselects your backup drives and easily allows for incremental or full backups.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial set up can be tedious like any other backup software. Software updates are relatively consistent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have a full enterprise backup with piece of mind all critical systems are protected. Easy to report previous days backups and restore when needed.

What do you like best about the product?
Veritas NetBackup is an enterprise backup solution that is very easy to set up, configure and administer. It backs up and restores heterogeneous environments with Windows Servers and Linux.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tape library configuration can be an issue sometimes, which affects our backup jobs. Speed is another areas wherein things could be improved so that backup and restore are faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Veritas NetBackup addresses our disaster recovery requirement. It allows us to provide our end users with a solution to recover data/servers from 3-6 months. Netbacup being an enterprise solution allows us to backup Windows, Linux and other applications like Exchange, SharePoint, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your environment consists of a large amount of data and a heterogeneous mix of operating systems like Windows and Linux, Veritas NetBackup is the solution.

To get SQL backups you must use files that netbackup special format,

Consultants are using one policy for one client, and force to you this usage, so if you have big environment, you must challenge with too much policies.
