Veritas NetBackup 360Data Mgmt
What do you like best about the product?
Enterprise grade solution allows to manage PBS of data. It's integration with access and info map helped us to solve data spiral in the environment
What do you dislike about the product?
It will be good if the interface is improved and more functionalities from the GUI point of view
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Was able to achieve RTOs and RPOs and meet our Dr requirement. Also integrated some other solution from Veritas such as Access & Info Map to solve data visibility and portability problem
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If looking for enterprise class solution Veritas NetBackup is the best option

Veritas Makes It Simple To Backup
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of it. It works well with all OS in our Server environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the price. It's very expensive to use this software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nightly backups and incrementals of highly used servers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would look to use NetBackup or at least demo it to fit your needs. It's very versatile and Vertias has been in the backup industry for quite some time.

I never really used Veritas NetBackup, but the layout and design is very professional and easy to use.

At first it was very difficult to get around, but once you get the hang of Veritas NetBackup, it is very easy.

Simplicity and easy to use with minimal training. Can easily schedule for down time so it doesn't use bandwidth while users are at their peak.

UI could be a little better but it's not that bad.

It has provided the backup solution we desperately needed. Provides disaster recovery options as well.

What do you like best about the product?
I like this Network backup functionality as it can backup hard disk drives on local network.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate that when my labtop is out of local network and it can't be backup while I am away from home network.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My daily backup to Netbackup was working beautifully working well so that I can make duplicate data all the time available.

Veritas NetBackup has a very good GUI which helps even a novice in the field of backup, to know clearly what backup jobs are currently going on, which jobs got successfully executed and how to schedule a new job.
What do you dislike about the product?
GUI sometimes work very slow over intranet. Moreover, its software for GUI should be available on Linux based PCs as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We take incremental backup every night and it keeps a copy of the data that can be used at a later time. As compared to other backup solutions, it's really good.

Go for it if you want your job to be easily done

What do you like best about the product?
I've used multiple backup tools till date, and nothing is comparable to Veritas NetBackup. The features supported by NetBackup are huge ranging from Database level backup to File system backup, VM Backup etc., and are highly customizable with script based policies/ intelligent policies which will reduce the manual efforts of backing up database/ file systems/ data at any stream.

I do not have anything to dislike regarding this product

We backup databases/filesystems/ VMs with veritas NetBackup. The ease of use in this tool is highly appreciable.
