IBM DB2 is really powerful and robust
What do you like best about the product?
Capability to handle large sets of data with same speed
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many to describe but I would be really happy if we can see relationship between tables in a schema with more ease.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Extracting millions of data by joining multiple tables. It is really quick and reliable to complete the request in no time.

My advice is to start using IBM Db2 everyone who works with databases
Easy to work on, support like anything in case of any issues

Support from team for issues related to anything.

BIND process has limitations which after resolutions might help

Usually basis query, nothing much advanced

Great performance but little documentation on the internet

Great integration with all IBM product family, but i can't find documentation on the internet to face any problem during the development of any solution, DB2 distributes and remembers the location of each track where the information is located. In the context of a long database, this partitioning system makes administration much easier to manage than a non-partitioned database of the same size, it is very strong database for high availabilty system or web applications, it security system is quite robust but this is more secure

In large systems the most used base is DB2 since it runs on different operating platforms, but in reality, in most cases the decision to opt for software of this nature is a corporate one.
Price is quite high when compared with other databases. Db2 don't provide user friendly and easier GUI to manage the database, db2 should take this into account and improve the tools to manage the database, they could take features from their competitors

The heterogeneous replication technology in SQL Server enables automatic publication of data to systems other than SQL Server, including DB2.

I would say it's the interface could be made better.

I solved business problems in banking industry.
Not functional on EC2 Instance type t2.micro
When you use this image in combination with an EC2 Instance type t2.micro, the resulting instance is not functional :
$ db2 connect to sample
SQL1084C The database manager failed to allocate shared memory because an
operating system kernel memory limit has been reached. SQLSTATE=57019
$
It becomes functional from the t2.small EC2 Instance type onwards.

Easy to learn and it is very user friendly

sometimes connectivity issues with other applications

Data fetching, Data storage, Access, and security.

What do you like best about the product?
Using SQL to interrogate a database is very helpful. I also find actually looking at specific tables helpful in finding information. Linking several tables in SQL can save a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unable to access to specific tables without authorization, even in a test environment!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Checking specific details of a particular record and linking that information through the table structure can be very helpful. Benefits are being able to get a clear picture of a particular record in establishing where data corruption be found.

Need a lot of patience, but the results can be well worth it.
We didn't face any issues while working with DB2.

It's fast and stable. If you know the little differences then it's a good choice for you.

It's hard to find someone who really knows and use it nowadays.
Maybe because lack of the company permission but I didn't use 3rd party software to manage the database and sometimes challenging to write complex queries from scratch.

All flat rolled products production data go there, so basically the problem we solved with DB2 is the whole production from A to Z.

I have no idea about the price, but if it's not an issue for you then DB2 can be a great choice.
