I am using DB2 from last 5 years.Its the best DB I ever worked on.

nothing.there is nothing bad about this product

What do you like best about the product?
DB2 subsystem availability where multiple subsystems can be defined in a sharing group and the application can access it using the sharing group. This greatly increases DB2 availability and ensures resiliency
What do you dislike about the product?
In-memory processing can be enhanced to accommodate large page sizes enabling processing much more data and providing faster query response. It can also improve on JSON & XML handling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application data storage - it helps maintain application transactions and perform analytics

What do you like best about the product?
Db2 is such a wonderful database that can support the volume of transaction the volume of data that are processed. The stability and reliability of the Db2 system. The process of upgrade to versions are so good,
What do you dislike about the product?
The various methods of connectivity that are so available with Oracle is not there in Db2. This is a shame.
The level of access restrictions is good and bad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From Finacial industry Db2 is the most reliable database system
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The datatypes needs to be relooked at that can support json etc

What do you like best about the product?
Very robust and resilient product running on Mainframe. This is almost backbone of many businesses. Can completely rely on this product
What do you dislike about the product?
did not see any features that did not meet the expectation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Billions of rows can be searched quickly. Native stored procedure concept to reduce MIPS consumption.

Db2 relational database

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of data access using SQL compared to network database. It is also easier to find SQL developers with knowledge of Db2 compared to old IDMS knowledge.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our legacy code was written to oprimize our old database system. It requires rewritting of COBOL code to use Db2 directly, but it is worth it to acheive cost savings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Converted our lagacy system to Db2 from IDMS to allow easier database modifications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Db2 allows easier acces to data using SQL compred to non-relational databases

speed is verrz well and we are using db2 for every day needs. our customers are also very interested on DB2 and thwy use ir for everz day and tehr own solutions

difference between zos and LUW, we have a lot of problems with migration from zos to LUW

What do you like best about the product?
security and flexibility/ Db2 for Zos is efficient and extremely stable. Cosses into the server world as well as the mainframe.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hmmm volume of work to maintain buffer pools and log files across multi plex environment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Db2 is fast and secure and very reliable.

What do you like best about the product?
Security, stability, integrity, and simplified licensing are the main reasons why our Bank uses DB2
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, none. But if I have to name one, then it would probably be its being identified as 'properietary
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All our core banking applications use DB2

The whole installation process should be more opotimized for the platforms. No further comments

Really good functionallity, the pricing modeel shoul be more transparent.

Using differnt applications for different user groups in several installations.
