Strongest code version tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty easy to commit the code, tracking history, raising MR, reviewing Changes, integration with CI CD
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't find any such thing which I dislike in Gitlab
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are maintaining our entire code repo base with gitlab, It helps us to maintain the integrity of code and change history

I would say, its one stop solution for enterprise applications

What do you like best about the product?
UI is user friendly , can easily filter commits , diff changes are easily visible ,can manage project repo easily , cloning and other aspects are also easy to use!
What do you dislike about the product?
filtering via author , suppose you want to see how much work you did last year , you cannot easily see only your commits , couldn't find anything else to mention
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using GitLab since 3 years and 2 months in the industry of Information Technology . We use GitLab as our central repository to manage source code of our project . Benefits i already mentioned!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using all the integration of Atlassian for Project Managament ,go for Bitbucket. If you are looking for Version Control only then probabily one of the best Version control platform available in market is GitLab.
Its good experience with Gitlab and Gitlab custom setup

1. Earlier, GitLab was more focused towards enterprise/paid customers, but this is changing now.
2. They have good CI/CD support, but more tutorial is needed.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before using GitLab, one must understand the basics of git & its philosophy. Please also understand and implement all the best practices mentioned by GitLab. Also, always give importance to roles & access configuration.
An extraordinary Version software
What do you like best about the product?
User interface is neat and easy to use, but most importantly the facility to store and use Terraform state files is the one which for me is the best of Gitlab
What do you dislike about the product?
The repositories sometimes act weird and doesn't allow to push actions, rest all looks perfect apart from few glitches such as above
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Versioning and storage and reusage of Terraform state files which is cost effective compared to AWS S3 and Azure Storage

Go with it, it's better than GitHub and others

What do you like best about the product?
The best feature I like with Gitlab is the CI/CD integration. The automated testing support with CI is fantastic, and it covers almost all the major languages. The CD supports all possible deployment combination.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as widely used as Github in the open-source communities, so it makes it a bit tough to recommend or choose against Github.

Collaboration during development among the distributed team, CI/CD integration, and automated testing for all the languages.

6. Give total control to the administrator for steering the version control and project in a future-proof model.

Sometimes it isn't obvious.
It gets tricky to undo some commands once they are committed.
The review process is also a bit complicated.

It's one of the best DevOps tools for source code management and version control. It's a great tool for continuous Integration for any sized project.
A great version control and project management software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Gitlab allows users to make not only use of the power of Git but also layer project management on top. Creating issues related to specific merge requests glues the two together perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the settings pages could be more intuitive. The number of times I have had to look for settings related to deploy tokens is almost uncountable. It seems to move around a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing a web project can be challenging. Gitlab allows users to not only manage their projects but also work directly on the command line, using standard Git tools.

What do you like best about the product?
It helps in the software development cycle by delivering software faster and efficiently. We can plan, build and deploy software.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's sometimes hard to migrate to a new server. And many of the free features are now restricted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it for version control and DevOps. Gitlab webhook triggers your pipeline within few seconds.

The fact that it's free and the possibility to self host it. The cicd options are great for automating out development process
