An 'okay' alternative to Microsoft BI.
What do you like best about the product?
It is flexible allowing you to customize your specific implementation of the service. When get assigned an account representative customer support is quick. They have built-in version control that seems like it would be nice if you needed it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a steep learning curve, even when you use it every day you will find something that you didn't know you needed to consider. It seems that they like to focus on their cloud solution and those that house the solution in their servers and environments are left to fend for themselves or pay for one of the Sisense partners for assistance with any issues related to managing and setting up the resources. System updates are not well-documented and are often prone to other issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sisense allows us to take a very large amount of information and consolidate into nice dashboards for our users.

Using sisense to provide our customers a good tool to analyze call center data
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense user interface for the final user (viewer or designer) is really simple and intuitive for the most common needs. It is really customizable, but also embeddable in your solution .
Sisense's support is always available and usually provide feedback in short time.
It's Elasticube (data) engine has really good performance.
The new AI features are really useful and appealing for our customers
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime it's not immediate for the designer to understand what is the path that sisense is usign to provide an answer (draw a chart or create a table), that could require some "hint" in the expressions to force it to use the right structures, but it depends on the complexity of your datamodel. I think it is an acceptable compromise when you use a software that is not requiring you to write the query needed to get data, regardless how complex is your datamodel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We provide sisense to our customers to analyze their call center data; the objective for our customers is to consult their data to evaluate if everything is working fine in their callcenter or something is creating an issue; in case of bad data, they have to understand what is causing the issue.

Sisense Periscope
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Sisense Periscope since 2018 and we are very happy with the product. It empowers anyone in the company with SQL knowledge to create dashboards and share them with others. This tool is really the fastest way from data to insights when you are prototyping or exploring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once you reach a certain level of complexity with your dashboards you will hit limits either in terms of performance or dashboard usability. In these cases it's better to move to more advance data tools that allows to better slice and dice the data. Still we are very happy to keep Sisense Periscope for the initial exploratory phase.

Most Flexible BI Tool on the Platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like Sisense because it lets multiple team-members with varying levels of skillsets collaborate. The ability to create data tables directly from python code is a significant force multiplier. In addition, the robust suite of plugins and embedding options means we can get the data directly in front of the people that need to see it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd say documentation is the poorest aspect so far. They have a very robust JAQL schema that let's you customize dashboards and widgets in run-time but it's not explained well.
There's some other minor quirks - Multiple people cannot design and edit a dashboard at once. You have to make your changes, then make someone else the owner of the dashboard before they can make their edits. Another thing that bugs me is when creating widgets you can't customize the type of join between tables, it's always an inner-join,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a platform that can aggregate data from all the different sources used by our product and present a unified view of our current KPIs and progress towards hitting targets.
Brilliant to use! Slightly confusing if your not a developer
What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love Sisense for several reasons! First and foremost, its user-friendly interface has made data analysis a breeze, even for someone like me who isn't a technical expert. The ease of creating and analyzing data reports and dashboards is a huge plus.
The analytics and data visualization features in Sisense are incredibly powerful. I can create highly informative and interactive dashboards that have greatly improved our data analysis capabilities.
What's even better is the level of customization it offers. I can tailor my dashboards and reports to suit my specific needs, adding widgets, charts, and other elements to make the data come alive.
What do you dislike about the product?
While there's a lot to appreciate about Sisense, there are a few aspects that I found less than ideal. The cost can be a concern, especially for smaller businesses or startups, as it leans towards the pricier side. Additionally, despite Sisense's reputation for a user-friendly interface, there's still a learning curve, which might pose challenges, particularly for those new to business intelligence and data analytics tools. On the mobile front, Sisense's app and mobile responsiveness could use some improvement, making on-the-go data access less convenient. Depending on the size and complexity of your datasets, data loading speed can be somewhat sluggish, which may affect users dealing with extensive data. If you require advanced statistical analysis or machine learning capabilities, Sisense might not fully meet your needs, as its primary focus lies in data visualization and reporting. Finally, the process of customizing dashboards and reports can be a bit complex and time-consuming, which might not be suitable for users looking for quick and easy customization. In summary, while Sisense offers powerful features, these drawbacks should be weighed against your specific requirements when considering its adoption.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

The support and active user community have been invaluable in overcoming challenges. In summary, Sisense has revolutionized our data integration, analytics, scalability, and security, making it an essential tool for efficient and informed operations in our data-driven world.
Easy to use with powerful data visualization capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to create queries and display data in a variety of formats.
What do you dislike about the product?
For large data sets, loading times can be long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sisense helps us make sense of how users are using our platform -- we can view trends over time and across different user groups.
A cloud solution to centralize and analyze all processes with technical support
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution to centralize all processes.
How has it helped my organization?
Before Sisense, we didn't have a single platform to monitor our performance data. As a performance advertisement organization, we needed a place to monitor all performances. Sisense helped us achieve this by pushing our data into one place. Now, anyone in the organization can analyze any data point they need without looking at multiple locations.
What is most valuable?
It is easier to get on board with Sisense because of their custom support team. You have a dedicated team to help.
What needs improvement?
Sisense is good in terms of visualization, but it has some drawbacks. For example, it doesn't have any way to sort or filter tables directly on the server side. Also, you can't have multiple tabs; it has a single dashboard.
Sisense has multiple levels of filtering, including similarities. Sisense has a huge customer base and is constantly adding plugins, so it is possible to create tables the way you want.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Sisense for one to two months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product’s stability has no issue.
I rate the solution’s stability an eight or nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
30 users are using the solution, and we are planning to touch 100users mark.
I rate the solution’s scalability a seven or eight out of ten.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used multiple other solutions, including Google Looker Studio, Quicksight, Superset, and Google Sheets dashboards. We wanted to consolidate all data, so we switched to Sisense.
How was the initial setup?
Migrating our data to Sisense was not easy since we were in a very busy period, and there were some issues during the first few months. This prompted us to look for a super site and other solutions. We were able to figure things out with the support of the Sisense team. It was a painful process, but we are happy with the results.
The deployment took around two months and four or five people to complete.
I rate the initial setup a three out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is not affordable for small businesses. It is cheaper for at least mid-stage startups to large scale. To get additional add-ons and plug-ins built by Sisense, we would need to purchase them as an extra package. There are also some extra costs associated with adding new profiles to Sisense.
I rate the product’s pricing a nine out of ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.
What other advice do I have?
There are multiple stages of the availability. The first primary thing is cost. The second one is how large your data is and whether you want to research data in real-time or if it's frequency-based. There are much better solutions like Superset or Looker. If you look at consolidated data that refreshes regularly, like once daily, Sisense is definitely on the good side. It doesn't offer anything extra except for the good visualizations. Sisense is on top of the market. There is an associated brand value. If you want to share reports with the clients, that would also be easier.
We were evaluating Sisense, but the pricing was too high for us. We decided to try it and purchased an initial membership plan for 10 or 13 people. We worked directly with the Sisense team, but for a long time, we could not onboard our dataset. We explored multiple solutions, including onboarding a sample dataset first or directly catching the data through queries inside items. This is their primary KPI and USP - you can write questions in site settings and people. We tried to host this somehow, but all of our attempts failed. After multiple discussions, I could onboard the queries directly with the help of the support team.
We have dashboards all over the place. It was getting tough for us to track down where the information was. We needed a central location where all the dashboards are present. We were also hopeful that the AI features in Sisense could help us point to deeper insights that we cannot find ourselves all the time.
We were evaluating between Sisense, Superset, and Looker Studio. And I think Sisense is relatively fast compared to Looker Studio, for sure. Looker Studio also has some build problems, such as the inability to support custom queries. So, it's not a scalable solution for us.
One person currently does maintenance, but we are considering two or three for this job.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
