Fast backend database connection, ease to get dashboard up and running, fast customer support

Sisense - A great BI tool
What do you like best about the product?
I have an good exposure on many BI tools. Among all the tools I like the simplicity Sisense provide to the developer\architect. The Sisense Blox and writing Jquery code allows user to customize visualization how they want. The metadata storage on MongoDB is one of the best thing Sisense does. It makes dashboard performance faster and makes data rendering very faster. The Sisense plugins are very helpful in Designing dashboards and showing out of the box functionality in the dashboard. Also, it's easily available in Sisense community.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Sisense administration is not that easy. Its very complicated and takes lot of time for managing the servers. The cube deployment is quite time consuming from Dev to PROD. Also, the logging methodologies are not that good, if some cube fails it's really hard to find the reason behind it and same goes with Server slowness\ dashboard failure. There is no way to manage user other than Sisense Web. I believe there should be some desktop tool to manage users and admin task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well to answer business questions! But more importantly what benefits its offer to end user is the Simplicity. The look and feel is very simple to the end user who don't need any technical background.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to solve your end to end reporting and analytics problem, i would highly recommend to use the Sisense. It can solve your problem very easily and intuitively.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the concept an elasticube and the smooth functionality of drag and drop nature of the widgets. Some of the baked-in functions such as pulses, regression forecasting and predictive insights are very helpful and bring reporting to life. Each of our Business heads are very happy the way we publish the dashboard and it's look and feel
What do you dislike about the product?
I found that customization of widgets is a little bit difficult though sisense team provides their great support every time to make things simpler for us. Customization should be more easy and involves less programing. Also a detailed and comprehensive document on how to format widgets, use Sisense approved add-on plug-ins, as well as for troubleshooting issues within the reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sisense is basically our prime BI face to the business leaders. We develop lots of reports and dashboards to get valuable insights about unknown scenarios of our business. Over the period of time sisense becomes our first and the only choice to do the analytics in a faster and fashionable way.

What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation & Tutorials are not easily available over the internet.
For Advanced users, no proper forum available for inspiration dashboard and sisense usages.
No Tutorials are available for advanced features such as API, Javascript embedding, JAQL.
Some advanced formulae are not available and we have to tweak the data from the backend itself to achieve something that could have easily be done at the front-end using the formula.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are developing/enhancing multiple dashboards according to the business requirement. Developing such valuable dashboards in a short span of time is easy. With Sisense, we can easily build cubes and create reports on top of it. As Sisense comes with the monitor itself the administration task is easy with it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just start developing the dashboard rather than searching for the documentation and tutorials. It is quite easy to learn on our own. You will learn on the go while fulfilling the business user requirement. For users coming from different tools, do not go directly to the advanced feature and usages. Start from Basic dashboards and gradually move to the advanced features at your own pace.

The user interface is pretty simple and neat. I don't need a initial tour on where to look at the things. From the day1 till today the experience was pretty smooth.
The filters and charts. There are bunch of visualizations available in sisense which are very suitable to express the metrics using right choice of charts.
We had did some experimentations on creating our plugin for one our needs. We were able to smoothly develop and prototype the plugins.
JAQL widget analysis were pretty useful when we tried to optimize the many to many joins and reduce the query path in our star schema model.

What do you dislike about the product?
The versioning of dashboard, widget and data model is not supported. This makes us to version the dashboard and cubes which are making our release process pretty tough. We often need to create new cube with new versions which breaks the dashboard who have designed their new dashboard with existing version.
We used pivot chart initially in the previous versions it started to break when there were large columns. also when we tried to export the data from the pivot chart. The data was completely different than the pivot because both pivot chart and export used different JAQLs.
For some versions we wanted implement row based filtering and column based filtering it didn't work as expected.

In our organisation we majorly work on building dashboards for tracking our operational metrics and measuring the efficiency.

The sisense has pretty smooth UI and features.

Easy to understand for beginners
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly interface, good visualization. It was easy to use the Sisense Cube Manager even as someone who had not worked with the application before. It was easy to navigate the application. Multiple widgets could be attached in the same dashboard. Multiple data sources can also be used. Also, multiple widgets can have a common filter. Other plugins are easily available and they can be very conveniently integrated with the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I wanted to customize some of the graphs then it is not easily done. I wanted to customize the Treemap, so, that each cell also has multiple sub divisions, which, could have resized based on their count. But, they were not being resized by the number of items in each cell.
Sisense is a heavy tool. Sometimes the dashboards take a long time to load.

We have implemented multiple dashboards, with visualizations based on different time periods. We use it for getting reports on several KPIs and comparing them to previous years data along with forecasted data.
