One place to find many packages and code. Opensourced and easy to handle pull requests.

Sometimes it had downtime and all work can be stucked.

One of the best options for code repositories
What do you like best about the product?
Has a great UI for seamless usage. You can easily maintain your code and versioning with multiple branches. Readily integrate with 3rd party tools for CICD deployments. Github desktop application comes in handy for quick checkins.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have really liked using the tool. Have been using it so far for 3 years and can't complain from user perpective. During implementation our administration teams faced some issues which took some time to iron out as it was first time implementation for them too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As organizations grow teams also grows and after a certain point need arises for centralized code management tool so effortless contibution within the teams. Github has helped us in collabrating with multiple teams and integrating code from them with proper branching strategies and versioning and seting up CICD piepline for seamless deployment

The problem GitHub solving is it's helps reducing duplicate work and developers can try new things and so on.

By seamlessly connecting Jira and GitHub, our team gains significant advantages. We can seamlessly associate issues with code commits, creating a clear trail and context. This enhanced visibility empowers us to closely track epics and tickets progress, pinpoint potential delays, and align development activities with overall project objectives.
What do you dislike about the product?
GitHub's reporting tools need improvement to provide deeper project understanding. More comprehensive reports that track code changes, issue resolution times, and developer involvement would facilitate data-informed choices and expand Jira integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Git through GitHub makes version control effortless. It records every code change, letting us go back to older versions and work together without clashing. This keeps our code clean and reliable. GitHub speeds up the review process. Developers can share their code for review, and reviewers can give input and improvements. Changes can be accepted right away. This collaboration and constant feedback help create better code and reduce the chance of mistakes, also, we can track changes requested by the business to the specific code change, making easy to adjust the code to the new business requirements.

Would be nice to have a search function that searches for matches in its repo
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of saving my projects locally on my laptop, I'm able to upload them onto my GitHub allowing me to pull/view the code from any device as long as theres some sort of internet connection

One of the best web-based and development projects collaboration platform out there!
What do you like best about the product?
First thing I like about it that it has reduced the load of files to manage and second thing it is collaborative and easy to use. As a student I like that Github provides so many options for students like the student package which is free , There are plenty of frequently users.

What do you dislike about the product?
Using GitHub as the primary platform for hosting code repositories may lead to vendor lock-in. Migrating code repositories to another platform can be time-consuming and challenging, especially if projects rely heavily on GitHub's features and integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitHub facilitates collaboration through features such as pull requests, code reviews, and issue tracking. Pull requests allowed me to propose changes to a repository and request that others review and merge those changes. Code reviews enable team members to provide feedback on proposed changes before they are merged into the main codebase. Issue tracking helps teams manage and prioritize tasks, bugs, and feature requests.
