Excellent cloud maturity assessment solution
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Great insights and reporting capabilities. Good depth.
What do you dislike about the product?
SBOM excel reports could be simplified to understand dependencies and usage of them in code better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to rapidly assess large number of applications for cloud maturity and understanding SBOM quickly is super useful.

Perception of CAST Highlight
What do you like best about the product?
The most significant feature of CAST Highlight is that the duration of scan is very less comparing to the CAST AIP.
It helps to get insights whether the application can be migrated to the cloud platform by providing the cloud ready recommendations available in the market.

The lack of providing deep insights on the application architectural level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps in providing the required insights in a short span of time which intends helping the buisness needs to maintain the SLA.

What do you like best about the product?
The most elite features about CAST Highlight feature is that it supports cloud infra model (AWS,Microsoft...) for migration and it takes lesser time for completing the scans when comapred to CAST AIP inturn that makes our end cutomer joyful.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit challenging part in Highlight is the vulnerbilities being reported and the fixes for the same.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is highly beneficial because of the detailed insights from the scan that we get is all about the deeper note on the violation,vulnerbilities and the cloud readiness which inturn helps the cutomer to build their product as a cloud ready product by fixing the violations and vulnerbilities.

CAST Hightlight is great for showing us any Open Source Security violations as well as valuable insite into the packages we use.

I can't think of anything that we dislike about CAST Highlight at this time.

What do you like best about the product?
In my experience in completing the cast highlight certificate I have found a platform with an easy to use interface and comprehensive metrics. The numerous options it offers to simplify the views of the applications analyzed, as well as the ability to sort nodes by technology, are features in which I see great potential when analyzing large applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the platform supports a multitude of programming languages, some users may find this limiting. On the other hand, some users may also find Cast Highlight's pricing structure a bit expensive, especially for individual developers or small teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the team where I work, we find great potential in its ability to perform a rapid assesment of a client's application portfolio, as well as to sort and display application features in intuitive and easy to understand views.

The tool is very Intuitive and elaborate all the features I've been looking to see in a single tool

There should be some form of contextual help on the portal for the users which could help guide the process if someone doesn't want to go through the training material again and again

Resolving tech debt and identifying cloud migration candidate in the existing system
Very good application portafolio analysis tool! / specially at scale for hundreds/thousands of apps.

I specially liked the ability to upload code samples and see the dependencies and blockers to cloud usage/conversion. The built in reports are very helpful too.

You have to practice a bit with the user interface, but once you get used to it you will like it.

CAST provides a great way of grouping and visualizing applications in your company for migration and modernization/upgrade analysis. It also pinpoints in good detail the legacy blockers or dependencies

the visualization of dependencies between applications was not possible and is very important for the elaboration of the migration roadmap.

What do you like best about the product?
Cast Highlight tool provides insights about multiple areas of the application like security, storage, network firewall issues along with their corresponding lines of code.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. CAST Highlight portal not at all works for me as a desktop application. I have to always log in via its site.
2. Sometimes It looks like the suggestions are redundant/repetetive.

CAST Highlight saves us a lot of time and clearly provides its assessment on the application with metrics like cloud-readiness, software elegance etc. The recommendations actually worked for most of our applications.
