The key dimensions of analysis which keep an holistic review on your applications and show their maturity and key vulnerabilities and areas of improvement.

I love it, however you need some technical skills to fully take advantage of the full potential
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Within a QA operating model is able to increase SW development issues and bugs and prevent incidents in production environments.
It is able to identify how ready your applications are to be migrated toCloud.

CAST Highlight in Action
What do you like best about the product?
There are two top things that I like about CAST ( Highlight ):
1. Ease of use;
2. Derived insights.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind. I did not experience any issues nor do I dislike anything about Highlight at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary problem solved was understanding the level of effort to migrate a portfolio of applications to Cloud. In a period of a couple of weeks, we were able to analyze a portfolio of around 100 applications and identify: overall software health compared to industry benchmarks, vulnerabilities and risks as well as blockers and boosters. Based upon this understanding, we were able to prioritize the efforts by building associated business cases for each application. This ultimately led to evidence-based, informed decision making.

Easy to use, on the cloud, graphical, excellent documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Missing some connector integration. Integration with Jira is complex.

Very easy to sunset part of the application because you see all connections.

Effortless Code scan provides Cloud Blocker/Booster, PaaS recommendations, Resiliency and CVVE scores.
Multiple Informational Dashboards and PPT/Excel Exports of findings at summary and Detail (individual code file) level available.
Portfolio level analysis enabled to identify low hanging fruit for quick successful migrations and the most important ones.

What do you dislike about the product?
Would like a broader Technology coverage, especially for legacy technologies such as C, Pro*C, Shell Scripts, ColdFusion, etc. for Cloud Readiness analysis. Would also like to get LOE Estimates on re-platforming legacy technologies to newer technologies based on lines of code , complexity, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improving Cloud Migration velocity via quick, automated code analysis revealing vulnerabilties, resiliency issues, and cloud blockers to be resolved prior to migration to public cloud.
Augments manual code analysis efforts and provides a lot of useful metrics around technologies in use, complexity, lines of code, etc.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been through a few iterations of a cloud migration effort, and how I wish we had at our disposal a tool that could give us insights such as those offered by CAST Highlight. While the interface seemed a bit overwhelming at first, taking a closer look has proven to show all the added value that CAST Highlight provides. I did like the detailed insights, which allow for more informed decisions. On another note using the local CAST Highlight agent that scans the pplications code is being ran locally with no risk of leaking any of the code to outsiders (including CAST).
These are a couple of advantages of using CAST which came handy in my personal though the list is not exhaustive.

What do you dislike about the product?
The agent scanning your application code is currently not available for Mac OS though there are ways of addressing this issue. CAST Software documents this in its online documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past i have seen development teams struggling, trying to get a grip on maintaining their applications portfolio with little or no documentation. The insight that CAST Highlight would have given these teams would have been invaluable.

Easy to understand summaries of the status and integrity of our software assets alongside comparatives to a massive database of other software products.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool ignores some 3rd party products, probably because they are not in the database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The tool identified several areas we could improve on within our software. As a result, we have implemented new standards in documentation and code reuse.

CAST Highlight portfolio based on 2 business applications, CAST Highlight basic certification
What do you like best about the product?
Clear and compelling view on software elegance, views on Code Insights provide helpful and relevant software improvement candidates; CloudReady view on the application provide great recommendations based on local code scans. We have issued TThe scans on different OSes (Windows, Linux) without any problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool's learning curve is not so steep - the user needs to spend some time on different examples to grasp all the aspects of potential issues, additional material needs to be read to understand all the metrics provided by the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have analyzed two internal business applications to consider cloud-native architectures of these applications (refactoring).
CAST HIGHLIGHT features are EXCELLENT and makes the product outcome as BEST in Industry
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent design of UI looks and easy way to check all and portfolio insights. Based on the different features, the decision of product migration to cloud , improving code-quality in SDLC process makes easier job.
Navigation and documentation is very good. And any new user of Highlight can understand easily.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are no much dislikes i can say in terms of features functionality and we are learning continuously with the new features in every release.
But interms of enhancement of features, i have below 2 items,
1. It will be good if we have some feature of portfolio dashboard like component catalog available to all types of users instead of only for portfolio manager.
2. Application level - user security provision will make secure dashboard instead of domain level security.

Mainly we are using it for open sources to make our products secure without vulnerabilities.

I will recommend to explore the features of product and can say surely any of the features will be helpful for best outcome of your product as per the standards.

What do you like best about the product?
The vendor is always enhancing the product and coming out with more features and capabilities.
I also like the various analysis it does such as Rationalization, Cloud Readiness, Security posture and other health checks
The dashboard is great having all the information in one place and allowing you to filter in to something specific as you need.

The duration between new version releases does take some time which is ok because it does require some effort to install the upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our Enterprise has a mandate to move out of a physical data center completely within 5 years. We need a roadmap of what to prioritize into phases to conduct the migration. We also need insight and recommendations on how to migrate. For example, should we retire some apps, re-host as a lift & shift, refactor, etc.
The new Cloud Portfolio Advisor helps to visualize this insight for our senior leadership!
Its great that this tool can be integrated into our tool chains and automated pipelines.You could even use the API to take integration even further!
