Data collection at scale
What do you like best about the product?
Data Dog is really great at collecting data and give real-time perfomance metrics.
It is super flexible and work for all the technologies that we are using.
Also it is super easy too configure an alerting system like Pagerduty to notify us if something is odd.

What do you dislike about the product?
Within Data Dog, the dashboarding is quite hard to figure out.
There is time were too much information is just disturbing. Data Dog could fall in this pattern if you don't design properly your dashboard.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Dog helped us to get realtime metric on basic object within our infrastructure.
It give what happened in what order. So debugging is much easier.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Datadog is really great and simple to use. The are also adding new support for a lot of technology and programming language so doing hook is pretty easy.
Great Experience but not PCI Compliant
What do you like best about the product?
Love their integration with almost all popular frameworks out there. Can get started in just one line agent installation. Looked into their Log management solution which is also great!
What do you dislike about the product?
Alas, they are not PCI compliant therefore exporting logs to them becomes a challenge as it comes under purview of PCI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it mainly as a metrics aggregation tool and also using for log management for non critical workloads with respect to PCI.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best for small infrastructures as too costly for bigger ones.
One of the best data monitoring tools
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to integrate with almost all of the cloud services is the best thing I like about datadog. Having used it for almost 7-8 months I found out that you can configure logs for even the smallest of unexpected behaviours in datadog
What do you dislike about the product?
Would've appreciated if they offered a free plan with limited functionality for early-stage startups. Currently they only have a 14days trial period
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using datadog as a monitoring system in case of failure. Having already used cloudwatch I think datadog offer tons of integrations and customizations out of the box
Great out of the box experience
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that its extremely easy to get started. The agent install is a one line command and you are good to go. Integration with all popular channels such as Slack, Pagerduty. Ready made dashboards add to the charm as absolutely low barrier to entry and sensible defaults.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too costly. 15 USD for one host is way too much for a startup who has close to 10 servers which can be expected. They do provide a free account for upto 5 hosts though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Datadog for application errors monitoring and alerting. We have realized tremendous benifits in terms of headspace that correct people will be notified should anything break.
Data Dog is A Good Boi
What do you like best about the product?
We used Data Dog for our Saas and Paas alerting and incident monitoring. It integrated very nicely with our other systems, we integrated with Hipchat for instance to monitor some of our critical services. Our team could then keep an eye on issues as they develop and see trending problems very easily. The visualizations are very cool, while we tenedd to not get too much use out of them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I mostly have nothing negative to say, the pricing is very reasonable, the integrations are great. I suppose if I had to come up with something it would be that there can be a somewhat overwhelming amount of information being presented sometimes but once you get past the learning curve it is not bad at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using data dog to expose our SAAS and PAAS alerting to our entire team (we have this integrated through Hipchat). We could see issues nearly live as they develop and get that information in front of the appropriate groups all at once.We have since moved to Pulseway.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend data dog, its a great product at a great price and it integrates nicely just as you would expect into other systems.

What do you like best about the product?
Datadog allows for the simple and convenient design of dashboards with which to define your application's statistics and master data.
What do you dislike about the product?
In some cases, it is a bit slow or presents reading errors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Publication of reservation control dashboards and percentage of errors received.
Easy to start, somewhat confusing UI
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoyed how the documentation for Datadog really allowed anyone to start using their services.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was pretty confusing setting up the software at first, since the UI isn't entirely intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to automate much of our QA pipeline now, which is immensely helpful.
Ease of use
What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly easy to use from a developer's standpoint and provides very versatile dashboards to be used by analytics and product

It gets really disorderly, very quickly. A better way to organize dashboards would be welcome.

Monitoring our database infrastructure, tracking errors occurring in our happy path.
Good visualization

Easy to visualize data. Interactive and lite.

Can be too overwhelming or complex for new users.

What do you like best about the product?
Datadog offers very powerful observability for your applications and has many built in integrations with existing apps and services. The graphs are powerful and tagging feature on graphs are extremely useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Datadog has outages than are a result of delayed ingestion. When the data in delayed false alerts begin to fire and and cause our company to pull the cord and hault deploys until they are back online.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using datadog to log important transaction and to get automatic alerts of any system issue.
