Managing time series in an easy way
What do you like best about the product?
It is a database specialized in data processing to build time series. It can integrate with other tools such as Grafana to monitor and visualize the data through different filters. It is also continually releasing updates and offering good documentation and support from the community.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it could be improved data interpretation, either through an interface or through the results provided through the console. Another aspect of improving at the performance level is the memory use as we accumulate data since sometimes it is necessary to restart the server to free memory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the primary use cases is the possibility of monitoring our applications to obtain metrics related to the memory and CPU consumption of the application servers that are running in containers and orchestrators such as Docker and Kubernetes. In addition, we can generate alerts for different types of events and monitor in real-time the capacity of applications as users register and connect.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good solution for time series recording and can be integrated with other monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana through different plugins.
Leveraging InfluxDB for IoT projects has been a breeze.
What do you like best about the product?
The high availability of the stored data and also time series feature has helped develop our IoT projects with the greatest efficiency and further projects have been planned on the same framework.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial learning curve was a challenge, but as the team was trained, the workflow got easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our data availability request was a challenge with the existing infrastructure, so we had to leverage a solution for robust data transfers and high availability timeframe with minimal lag.
Excellent High Performance Time Series Database
What do you like best about the product?
Powerful database for time series data that is very feature rich and easy to use. Very useful for a lot of different uses from monitoring to reporting and many other tasks. Database has a lot of built in data features taht are really handy when dealing with time series data that a lot of other databasess don't have. The database is also very efficient at storing the information on disk in a very compact manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to deal with cardinality and memory consumption can be a challenge. This has created some limitations for us where we have to be careful about what all we put into InfluxDB to make sure that we can have a stable instance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using InfluxDB to store telemtry information from thousands of machines and using the data for monitoring and reporting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a database to store and visualize time series data I think this is one of if not the best solutions available at this time; and it is open source which is really nice. The team has done a great job of not hamstringing useful features behind paid services which is really great to see.
Robust and scalable, yet easy to bootstrap TSDB
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to spin up, good documentation, very good performance and low resource usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Advanced functions are not user friendly. Such as the variable retention rate implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Convenient storage of time series for easy retrieval and analytics. Also the write point protocol is very convenient to allow a variety devices to write data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with a small on premise setup along a cloud based solution then as your usage grows, decide between the two to achieve lowest cost implementation.
InfluxData review on gsviec
What do you like best about the product?
InfluxDB Open Source and it very fast and easy to config
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing here, maybe need native support on kubenertes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use InfluxData to monitoring our server
Best time series Monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the open source Influxdb, we use it for our in-house server monitoring
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited features in Opensource Influxdb database and also no automatic sharding of database
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring especially and also we use it to track our time series based IOT system prototype.
Best Time Series Monitoring DB
What do you like best about the product?
I have Influxdb for quite a while, I particularly like the Monitoring feature that Influxdb offers along with other components like telegraph, Kapacitor and chronograph. I used to use grafana for visualisation of data
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the only thing I disliked was the Limitations of Opensource InfluxDb. You don't get some good HA features in Influx Opensource.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring especially.
I worker with time-series, so I very interested in Influxdb
What do you like best about the product?
real-time analytics, providing REST API, web UI, query language
What do you dislike about the product?
The licenses, if you want to scale your database
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Influxdb helps our team to analytics our metrics of business
Recommendations to others considering the product:
time-series and cost
Wonderful Embedded DB
What do you like best about the product?
I had used this as Timeseries Database with Node-Red and Grafana. I loved the way with which I was able to integrate and with such high performance. I was able to integrate all pieces within a day
What do you dislike about the product?
The Documentation and Community support, though it is good now, I had used it and stacked it in my IoT Analytical suite sometime back
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The speed at which I was able to query the Timeseries data and easy integration
with Node-Red and Grafana
with Node-Red and Grafana
