Ping Review

  • May 04, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Support for their products is amazing. Break/fix tickets get the utmost attention with their support team but even when I just needed some guidance their engineers have been more than willing to engage and give their expertise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost is products is not cheap but for good reason I guess, their products do what they say they can do. So many vendors make promises and then don't deliver. Not the case with Ping, PingIdentity delivers!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single Sign-On, alternate Identity Stores and MFA. Last month PingFederate saved us over 1.2 million logons, with the average logon taking 15 seconds or more, we are saving the business tons of precious time.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Ping Identity for the past year, and it has worked seamlessly. I use it daily for multi-factor authentication and single sign-on, and it is the best solution I have personally used for either. It is quick, easy to use, and adaptable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything specific that I dislike at the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized the benefits of single sign-on and the simplicity it provides when using our company's suite of applications.

What do you like best about the product?
Really good support and really responsible. Products are in the best class on the market and expecially Ping Federate for our usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
SaaS service is really less than powerfull than some competitor with lack of option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
federate identity through lot of DataStore sources. Onboarding application for SSO in a minute. Use contextual behavior to enforce the corporate policy regarding the authorization process.

Ping federate product review on authentication methods

  • November 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have found ping is the best product in terms of multiple authentications factors and for its ease of doing.
we have used ping for MFA certificate-based authentication for personal devices (BYOD) and had many adapters for our convenient usage for a better communication/connection. we can use ping as Federation hub if you have multiple IDPs and SPs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides, I personally feel like the Ping Access must be included in the same license of ping federate. so that clients can use its functionality also for legacy applications. Apart from that, everything is cool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we have given solutions for external user authentication with MFA and internal user authentication with IWA. and for secured access with personal devices of users, we have set up certificate-based authentication if the user agrees to install the client certificate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always go with the complete product of ping do not use any 3rd party apps we can reduce performance issues, it has all latest and advanced required features.

Sr. Manager of Advanced Authentication

What do you like best about the product?
Identity products keep pace with needs. Listen to customers. Good people, easy to work with. Play nice with other vendors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lagging behind in adaptive authentication for a few years, but that is changing. PingFed OAuth/OIDC implementation could be better. It is highly flexible but confusing to setup and maintain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ping products are highly flexible to meet any need for large enterprises.
Azure AD integration works well.
MFA service is easy to use, and the PingID app works well with other apps.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it :)

Ping Identity

  • October 13, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ping Identity is a powerful product suite, that has enabled us to solve complex identity access management challenges. I.e Identity federation and biometric authentication using PingID SDK. The main area where the product suit is lacking is automation and cloud readiness and enabling of devops best practice. Ping professional services have provided invaluable support in our initial setup and roll out. "
What do you dislike about the product?
As Ping expands their product offering I am concerned if they will be able to maintain their focus on each individual product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Securing APIs and web applications from hackers by building a product is a humongous task. Ping has accomplished this and earned credibility as a product that can be set up to secure web/mobile applications using web tokens, xaml assertions and handling session management. The product is so reliable that it is trusted by many high profile companies. As a developer I have managed to onboard many applications using pingfederate. The tool is really easy to configure and setup, with support documents available online for anyone who wish to try it on their application
Recommendations to others considering the product:
the end result is great. Ping Federate is very flexible and has been able to handle all of our use cases

Ping Identity is a strong partner

  • October 07, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ping Identity has great, standards based products. I can buy as much or as little of the suite as I like and know that it will interoperate with the other services I use on premise or in the cloud. I also really appreciate that the entire Ping team has taken the time to get to know us as a customer to deliver what we really need. They are focused on our success and not just our annual renewal or another sale.
What do you dislike about the product?
To operate at large scale in an enterprise, we really need self-service options for managing SSO configurations, whether on-prem or via the PingOne cloud solution. To date, those feature have been lagging, though we're now starting to see Ping address this gap with PingCentral. Looking forward to learning more about that product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Ping Identity for SSO with PingFederate, as well as PingOne's cloud based IDP, which has been an SSO adoption accelerator as our use of SaaS solutions has taken off these past few years. We're also using the PingID MFA service to bring strong authentication to our entire workforce for Office 365, AWS, various other SaaS solutions, VPN, and more. We've achieved greater speed to market for our business applications and higher customer satisfaction. With PingID, we've improved our overall security while simultaneously reducing user friction during the login process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth checking them out. They're at a good place in the Gartner Magic Quadrant and they'll partner well with you.

Ping Identity Products

  • September 19, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We were using almost nine products from PingIdentity and it's easy to use and scale on the demand. The provided upgrade utility makes upgrades easy to perform. The professional services group from Ping has also been excellent and has been a true partner during implementation and other additional projects. The ability to use PingID push MFA was a requirement with the recent cases of Smishing (SMS Phishing) being conducted by bad actors
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I didn't get any issues with PingIdentity products.I don't like how the communication at the API layer is based on changing the content type instead of using a standard RESTful API. To me, this seems like some kind of security by obscurity. We ran into a couple of minor issues when implementing the PingFederate disaster recovery solution, but the support team is very professional enough to step in and helped us along the way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MFA
Single Sign-On
Access management
Customer Identity and Access Management
'We set up several clients with various methods of using MFA including app, email, and SMS. Clients like the options.

From an administrative view: PingFed, once configured, requires a little training on the deep selection of menus. System administration to add IDP or SP adapters using the partner library is so smooth.

PingOne administration takes very little effort in order to configure and is very intuitive
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We were using almost nine products from PingIdentity and it's easy to use and scale on the demand.

Open Standards-based Identity Management

  • September 18, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the approach to standardizing on open standards, like SAML, WS-Federation, SCIM, OAuth, OpenID Connect, OATH, and FIDO2/WebAuthn. Open standards make it easier to build, secure, and maintain applications integration with Ping Identity platforms. Ping Identity is a thought leader in the identity and access management space, and routinely is a member of the bodies that create new standards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all applications support open standards out of the box, so customization is needed to take full advantage of the platform. Some products, like PingFederate are able to be customized to the extreme, while other products, like PingOne for Enterprise, or PingID, are more limited. Ping Identity was slow to adopt/release official docker support, but have now caught up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralizing single sign-on, identity and access management, authentication, and authorization. Moving to open standards for authentication and authorization has significantly helped speed up our internal development times, after a team has learned the standard.
