PostgreSQL Cloud Data Warehouse (CDW) Analytics & Data-Driven Cloud Solutions with Sigma Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Sigma provides cloud-native Software-as-a-Service empowerment to our organization's requirements by overcoming the limitations such as static analytics and insight latency of traditional BI tools. Its connectivity to our datastore is straightforward and doesn't require data extract procedures. It provides extensive data type support, automated parsing of JSON, and near-zero maintenance thanks to its cloud infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
It maintains security synchronization and governance standards with our CDW system. All analytics and scenario modeling takes place in the cloud, so there is no need to worry about auto-scaling and resiliency. The dislike is none from my end, as Sigma offers data visibility to understand them on a granular level for my business use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have our PostgreSQL Cloud Data Warehouse (CDW) architecture having millions of rows of live data in which we have to conduct root cause analysis & modeling of various scenarios. Sigma effectively provisions an uninterrupted analysis flow in our records through its built-in SaaS solutions for pushing queries into our CDW for data-driven executions. Its dashboard & reporting utilities include representation through various chart types such as stacked bar, scatterplot, pivot & data tables with high-level customization features & interactivity.
Sigma review
What do you like best about the product?
Reviews available that helps in choosing the right and best software. Easy to navigate the UI. So many options are available to choose from.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing really so far. I like the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
finding a good app that is business and use-case appropriate. The time taken to find the right app has been considerably reduced.
Decent Web Business Intelligence software
What do you like best about the product?
It seems to run very fast, and can actually both visualize data AND allow for designed data extracts in the same software, unlike the leading software in the space.
What do you dislike about the product?
It still needs some work for full financial business intelligence. Certain financials can not be designed on a "sum all" column method. It's hard to replace a software like the old FRx for things like that, but with the proper data design it could be done - but that takes some thinking outside of the box
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving things like major data extracts so that our production environment is not hammered with requests; this is benefitting us so we don't slow down for our core business while allowing further insight into the data, without a substantial speed loss
Great tool to build robust visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of using the sigma tool with its capabilities such as parameters , variables etc.
It's other capabilities with explorer , viewer plus licenses are great to explore.

What do you dislike about the product?
Save as is not part of the viewer plus licenses and if some options could become available in viewer from business users perspective could be great to see.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Was able to develop successfully an existing Qlikview dashboard and planning to decommission qlik . Benefits is in terms of cost savings for Qlikview .
On the path to success
What do you like best about the product?
Sigma enables easier access to Snowflake data and is simple to use. Instead of sudden failures like we experienced in Power BI, we can see query times increase or exceed standards while making the reports, enabling us to correct inefficient queries without downtime. Our use case is application embedding, and they have a roadmap to improve support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sigma doesn't yet have all the UI features I'd like to see. We can't match our mockups and sometimes need to build custom components when I'd really like to just adjust the CSS on their charts. We also haven't solved the "report on data in file folders" problem, which is probably more of a Snowflake ingestion issue, but our users interface with Sigma, so they feel the issue there. Their roadmap has a lot of major features I'm eagerly awaiting. Don't expect to have everything you want right now, but do expect frequent releases with new features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Sigma to build reporting for our customers and place it in our application. Using Sigma, we can update those reports quickly and easily, rather than a slow process of building custom-coded reports. Also, some features next year will enable a semi-custom reporting solution without an expensive build-out by us. Just a couple of changes on permissioning, and we have a massive new feature for our customers.
An on-cloud analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is entirely on the cloud. Big data seems easy here.
I used to get many issues while loading 30-40 million rows in Power BI and Tableau. But this seems easy here as strong cloud computing capacities back the tool.

What do you dislike about the product?
The features of the tool don't catch the eye while doing any work on it. The interface is not engaging at all. It required much practice to get familiarity with this tool, unlike Tableau and Power BI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am helping my senior leadership team to review the business at one catch by consolidating all the data together and making insightful business reports across different dimensions of the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you work with the extensive size data, then it will be a great help to you.
All the best!

Sigma Review
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the feature where you can create child elements from one sql source which makes everything load faster. Coming from chartio, every time you had to make a new graph it needed to rerun the query really bogging down the whole thing
What do you dislike about the product?
contrary to what i really like, I wish the parameters could run off of their queries. It feels silly sometimes to have to make a query to pull what i want my drop down menu to have and then make a parameter from that and then hide the original query. I would really also love to see a transpose function for charts. Right now im making pivot tables which is a work around but it is somewhat janky to do it that way
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One main problem that has been solved is realiability and speed. Chartio would often times not run so that is amazing. The way we can display data is really great too, and love the built in map feature that updates in real time instead of going to other websites like kepler.gl (althought you guys should copy some maps features from them)
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to add new designs and also create/review created view
What do you dislike about the product?
Not easy to show flow from one page to another page
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create design for engineers and realise product flows
Overall it is very easy to use and is a great way to analyze data.
What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact how easily it collects all of your data, and then allows you to be able to organize and analyze it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how it isn't super visual. It would be better to have more visuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to primarily pull data to then organize into one-pagers for our team to easily digest.
Powerful and Easy Enough To Use For Most Applications
What do you like best about the product?
Sigma makes it easy for an analyst who is comfortable in Excel to analyze database data in a way that is familiar to them without needing a deep familiarity with SQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the tool is generally capable, the some of the visualization options are lacking compared to tools like Tableau. Additionally the new workbooks feature that will be replacing worksheets feels like 2 steps forward and 1 step back. While there are some items that make Sigma easier to use and organize it lost some core functionalities that I used regularly like the ability to have multiple dimensions in a single grouping level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Sigma to analyze cross platform marketing data. Sigma provides a much faster more robust solution than free options like Data Studio while being more approachable than a tool like Tableau or Microsoft BI.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While you dont need to be deeply familiar with SQL a basic understanding of relational databases is neccesary to prevent accidental errors and troubleshoot issues.
