Great concept, without the glitz and functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Sigma is able to aggregate all of the data I need in one dashboard/report. It's fairly easy to use as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes forever to load reports and that is very frustrating. It makes it almost a useless service for me. Also, the dashboards aren't very pretty. Geckoboard has a much nicer design.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am experience problems with load time. It takes forever to load reports and they sometimes time out. Benefits are that the information is useful and digestable.

I would look at all of your options.

I can group data together and export it as spreadsheet

Sql interface doesn't have great UI. I can only do most of the things via ui instead of SQL

User tracking. I like the scheduled exporting feature and was able to build integrations based on exporting to spreadsheet

We are experiencing some internal issues with our data, resulting in issues in sigma. That said, this is through no fault of Sigma

Sigma maintains the mental model of a spreadsheet.

How complicated it is to combine sheets for someone new to data analysis, and the difference in abilities between Readers & Authors

What do you like best about the product?
Easily build on Snowflake data, fast time to results and can share dashboards across the wider organization.

When a query times out or there's another error, it's tough to troubleshoot the issue.

Save yourself several hours every week with Sigma
What do you like best about the product?
I think what I like best about Sigma is that I can turn it loose with all of the queries that I normally run manually, and have it build out my pivot tables and charts for me, without me having to remember to do it on time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish that there were more options for visualization. I also wish that I could build out multiple visualizations from the same data that all had data exclusions. If you need that, you just need to set up multiple source tables which works fine, but then I have multiples to update when I make a change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Sigma to help speed up my daily / weekly and monthly reporting. I can do things automatically with its pivot table design that I cannot do at all in Excel. It makes slicing my user data insanely easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a ton of data spread among a bunch of different tables, and you would like to look at it all together in one table, that you can easily make your own picot tables and charts without having to manually export data, clean it and then build out your tables, this could be the answer that you are looking for. Sigma saves me about a half hour of my morning to update my user counts. It saves me about an hour on my weekly reporting, and about 4 hours off my monthly reporting.

Data in the hands of whom needs it
What do you like best about the product?
Sigma Solution reduced at least by 50% the time used to explore and understand the data in an enterprise data warehouse. By generating automatically the SQL and if something goes wrong with your query it allows the user to review the code behind it so a more advanced user can benefit from the tools as well.
Also, I would like to highlight that a big win is the flexibility of the tool that allows people who are not familiar with SQL to explore data warehouses fairly easy.

What do you dislike about the product?
As Sigma generates automatically the code for SQL queries the code can become redundant/duplicated. It has a big impact on the performance and it made resources of our data warehouse (Google Cloud Plattform - Big Query) reach their limits often during query execution. One thing that Sigma be interesting for Sigma to research (and may Sigma is already doing it) is machine learning in the development of code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sigma is being used to analyze how our data is flowing between the different platforms our company uses. With the automation capabilities of Sigma, we can keep constant tracking in-process and gave visibility to stakeholders often and effortless than before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It gives you great capability to analyze your data and easily join tables. However, if you are looking for a tool that creates interesting and feasible visualization you should choose another one.
