A good alternative to node.js

  • April 26, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The extensive library and ease of use serves a great purpose in bringing fluidity to all operations. This software being the successor of node.js has covered all of the features that it was lacking previously.
What do you dislike about the product?
Node.js being in the scape for a long time has already created a place of comfort for many coders. While some may find it little experimental but with proper usage over time it can be solved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Though I have started to use wiki.js recently and have been ongoing training to learn about it. I have found it to be really helpful and packed with a number of usable features.

Fantastic tool for documenting hardware and software configurations for customers

  • February 21, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
The best "feature" for me is the ability to self-host the software to maximize the security of my clients' confidential data. Composing pages using Markdown helps keep formatting consistent and less time-consuming. The software has a good variety of customization options and supports integrations with other software used internally. Another must-have is dark mode, which Wiki.js has done well. Being an open-source product, submitting bug fixes and requesting features is easy - so is adding features on your own.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few UI quirks that take getting used to, although improvements and features are being added from time to time that minimizes these relatively minor issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wiki.js serves as a central repository for internal processes, hardware/software documentation, and a reference for the configuration of solutions we provide for our clients. Since Wiki.js supports multiple authentication methods, we can also allow clients to access portions of the site as required.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the containerized version to make the initial setup painless. This also makes upgrades easy to roll back if something goes wrong.

Overall easy to setup

  • October 30, 2020

Setup is pretty easy but the documentation could be better. For example, how do we really get LetsEncrypt setup? https://docs.requarks.io/install/aws

Steps 4 and 5 don't seem to work. I hope all of our databases don't have the following credentials:
DB_USER=wiki -e DB_NAME=wiki

Great wiki tool but current release has issues

Newest release is adding text to the titles and headers. For example, general.title or local.title.

Also, seeing this error when moving between pages "An unexpected error occured."

Good, but cannot Connect to server?

  • March 03, 2020

Looks good, all setup. I can't connect to the server though, so I cannot switch to https and use google authentication.

Is there a user I can "Connect" with to login? Tried root, ec2-user, admin, administrator, ubuntu.... what's in the container??

Will add stars if I can at least use this at my org!

Thanks
