    Management Consulting

Not push-button simple, but flexible beyond imagining

  • November 20, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Besides being extremely robust and scalable, Drupal is almost infinitely flexible. The ability to create content types and use views to display them in any number of different ways to suit different context and/or presentation style needs is huge!
What do you dislike about the product?
Historically, the Drupal upgrade path has been painful; with successive iterations involving a completely rewritten and/or re-architected codebase, resulting in the need to rework or completely redo any customizations and modules that provide add-on functionality to the core CMS. The move from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9, however, bucks this trend and ensures maximum compatibility between those versions. Whether this trend continues or not, only time will tell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing fast, flexible websites integrated with multiple systems. No licensing cost means all costs go to developing the desired presentation and functional requirements.

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to learn for inexperienced webmasters and there is a lot of support
The modules logic is very useful
Possibility to customise things like themes, style, etc..
What do you dislike about the product?
Forms in drupal are not the best and they are very standard that you cannot do much with them, you can make forms though on php and integrate them through webforms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Web development

The most comprehensive CMS I've used

  • November 13, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Drupal is far more flexible than any other CMS I've ever used. You can build pretty much anything with it if you apply best practices and sensible architecture. People say Drupal is complicated but they are referring to the developer experience. For an actual user of the CMS I'd rate Drupal's ease-of-use above that of Wordpress and other similar, popular platforms out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
Drupal has a steep learning curve for developers so when it comes to really customising the framework for specific needs you'll need knowledgable developers at your disposal. This can make working with Drupal expensive but the results are usually worth the investment. Drupal also has a smaller community than that of Wordpress which again compounds the cost issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We build enterprise scale software and websites with Drupal. Our entire business is built on the foundation that Drupal provides. Drupal has allowed us to rapidly build enterprise grade software instead of spending years slogging away at entirely custom solutions. We've built an extensive portfolio of marketing sites with complex integrations and analytics as well as extranet software for improve the working lives of thousands of people. Drupal allows us to get solutions to market much more quickly than when we built everything from custom code and therefore allows us to help larger clients to save money, but projects have to be of an adequate size to justify the use of Drupal. Simple micro-sites or stand-alone marketing sites are probably better suited to the likes of Wordpress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the plunge! It's not going to be quick cheap fix but it will help you scale and innovate quickly.

    Marketing and Advertising

Drupal is nice

  • November 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that literally anyone can build a website. I took an 8 hour workshop and learned how to set one up from scratch. You can make custom content types and pull in certain pages for a news feed without help from a developer.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike when upgrades would break some things but this was due to custom modules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are more nimble when it comes to building and changing things across the site.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your research but talk to vendors and get recommendation to help find the right product for you.

    Information Technology and Services

The CMS when for when you need to be able to do anything.

  • October 27, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Drupal is very flexible and incredible at scale. With the latest version it can integrate with about anything that is out there. There is a huge collection of community contributed modules that are security reviewed and ready for use without much in the way of developer interaction. Not all developers agree, but I find it to be easy to work with and quick to build.
What do you dislike about the product?
Drupal, while scalable, is a bit of a beast to manage at times. The default themes and editing experiences have a sharp learning curve for most. It is also a heavy application if your needs are not as great. Brochures, blogs, and other small sites are not well-suited for Drupal as the overhead is way too much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating big websites that can handle everything from media, deep search filters and facets, storage of thousands of pages and objects, integrating with services, automation, it can do quite a bit. It also has a great community that can help get you started. Really made me feel like I was welcome and encouraged to help out even as a novice.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have access to developers familiar with Drupal or are considering a vendor that is skilled with Drupal, it is a great solution for making websites at scale. That includes multilingual sites, media sites, educational sites, and more.

What do you like best about the product?
Druppal offers a wide range of layout and functionality options, and, once set up is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
You really need developer knowledge to use many of it's more robust features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to streamline and simplify our content changes and updates

Customizable

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Templates could be easily customized to fit the site's needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the most intuitive for content editors. WYSIWYG editing was not always functional to the extent needed and required extra steps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Supported a content heavy site that could be customized to specific programs.

    Education Management

What do you like best about the product?
Good interface that can do a lot visually. You can customize to your organization's current theme
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be slow to use and load. Takes a while to save content blocks when they are updating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consistent brand image. Having multiple people being able to edit is very nice and handy
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hire a web specialist trained with Drupal or similiar softwares.
