Drupal is the leading choice for mid enterprise CMS
What do you like best about the product?
It is built with flexibility in mind. There is really nothing that can't be done with an experienced team. If you need a secure website (who doesn't), API integrations, workflow management etc and don't want expensive licence fees then Drupal should be on your list.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need good Dev team to build sites. Systems like Cohesion.co.uk help but high performing sites need high performing developers (All enterprise platforms worth their salt do)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Flexibility to build large complex sites with multi author content workflow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its not right for everyone. If you have a smallish brochureware site then Drupal is not suitable in most cases. There are a lot of bad implementations of Drupal because of its power and flexibility (Its easy to do it wrong). Make sure you find a good vendor (Drupal.org has lists)

Functional Open Source CMS offers a lot of flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
With Drupal, our developers are able to make customized modules and nodes that are perfect for our use. There are lots of available prebuilt solutions but most often ours need to be built completely custom, and Drupal allows that.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a content manager I am not often exposed to the backend.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to choose how much or little we wanted to be involved in the development and every day content management with our website.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have your developers work with you so you understand the backend more. It's difficult to see things from their perspective.

Access to wide pool of developer talent ... ease of use from pro to novice
What do you dislike about the product?
Lingo takes a while to learn, and adjusting to no navigation tree in the interface is an adjustment. Also need many more D8-ready modules
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fully responsive site! We need to place pieces of content on multiple pages for multiple audiences in multiple formats. Drupal modules make that less of a pain.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look closely at what you need vs. what's available in Drupal 8 (much still undeveloped). Also look closely at your host provider.
Drupal is not friendly

It served its purpose for the time being.
What do you dislike about the product?
In a world with more user friendly platforms, Drupal is not one of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company needed a website and our web vendor chose Drupal for its platform. It was an ideal situation for the vendor because we were reliant on them to do any dynamic changes.
It gets the job done, but it has its limits.
What do you like best about the product?
Drupal is easy to navigate on the back end of our website.
What do you dislike about the product?
Drupal is heavily template and can not accommodate extensive customizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to clone and reproduce programs effectively. This is especially useful for repeating occurrences.

The ease in which I can create basic pages and add a hero image for each page

How heavily templated the pages are, and how I cant insert photos into the body of the pages

Getting our information out to our audience—knowledge of programs, events, exhibition openings, etc
Wide offering, however, not as intuitive for those without a computer science background

Easy access to content management system.

When I've used Drupal in the past, I thought the structure wasn't as user-friendly and intuitive as I would have liked, especially for someone who does not have a computer science background.

Large amount of contributed modules that integrate with our other business systems easily.

Limited documentation to some modules. Frequent security updates to core cms and contributed modules.

Non-technical people can now jump in and update our site, SEO runs smoother, and we are generating more leads every day

It really depends on your organization needs. The companies who need more flexibility and customization really thrive.
Using Drupal for over 10 years
What do you like best about the product?
You can honestly build anything with Drupal. Its modular structure and fast performance make it ideal for most mid-to-large sized projects. I've built everything from blogs to websites that interface with grocery store rewards programs systems..
What do you dislike about the product?
Drupal is way too difficult for simple websites. Sometimes it even feels like it's been engineered intentionally to be more difficult than it needs to be. It's built by engineers, for engineers. And it shows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Current project is a major hospital system and we're connecting dozens of departments, international locations and customer-facing information orgranized and optimized.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a dev team or dev firm that can handle the requirements of Drupal. If possible, don't just hire a PHP developer, but get an actual Drupal developer. Drupal works best when it's built modularly, adding custom code as necessary. In my experience, a lot PHP developers with no Drupal experience want to write too much code themselves, which takes away a lot of the benefits of Drupal.
