Very user-friendly platform for our research firm website

  • April 23, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wordpress is incredibly user friendly and has a very intuitive user interface. Even if I have limited technical knowledge, I can easily create and manage a website using Wordpress. It’s also very easy to customize, add content and change the look of your site.
Wordpress is an open source platform, which means that there are hundreds of themes and plugins available to customize our website. I can choose from a wide range of themes, customize the look and feel of our website, and add various features and functionalities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite its security features, Wordpress is still vulnerable to hackers. Hackers can access and exploit our website if I don’t keep our software up to date. Wordpress requires hosting, which can be expensive. I also need to make sure that you are getting a reliable hosting service.
Wordpress sites require regular maintenance in order to keep them secure and running smoothly. This can be time consuming and costly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wordpress is a very secure platform. It has built-in security features, such as user authentication and two-factor authentication, which can help protect our site from malicious attacks.

Wordpress is what you make it

  • April 20, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Wordpress platform is very flexibile. The available plugin category is enormous. This is both good and bad. Too many plugins can bog down a site and make it slow. I would strongly recommend that someone do their own research when using plugins: make sure they are updated on a regular basis and that the developer is responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve and it is not plug-and-play. This is not a "dislike" so much as it is a reality that should be accepted when using this product for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
WordPress is a great platform on which to build a business website and maintain control. It also allows you to manage expenses yourself without recurring subscriptions to keep your website online.

I am self taught and watched youtube, read forums and learned through trial and error. I like that it's relatively easy to learn wordpress and get your website going.

It's not as secure so you may get hacked. It can be time consuming to fix once you are hacked or come across the "white screen of death" and you have to learn how to fix issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up and creating a website that allows for us to disseminate information. It's saving us money and it's easy to have someone edit the content.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part is that WordPress is an open-source management system. It is an excellent program for those of us just starting to build websites, working with SEO and building a website for your business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't particularly appreciate that it doesn't have a screen showing live changes as you go. Otherwise, it is a great program to work with. A lot of features available.

Lots of customization. If you do it right, Wordpress can be powerful and fast
What do you dislike about the product?
Runs on PHP. The UX is poor. Plug-ins will destroy your speed.

Best Online Blog Site

  • April 13, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how WordPress makes publishing simple and easy for users with various layout options to customize the site. I can add images, videos, regular updates, and scheduled posts to make a public blog. Sharing the blog with others is a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
WordPress can be clunky to work with when you start, but practice will solve that. There is not feature to embed links the way you can on Google Sites, which is the only area that loses out to Google.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted my students to update their parents and guardians about their daily learning and activities. Students submitted their photos and captions; then, I complied them onto a daily blog post shared with parents. WordPress was streamlined and simple - students loved the autonomy, and parents loved the updates.
