    Staffing and Recruiting

Good tool, but could be better

  • February 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
User friendly, Intuitive, Enterprise level tool with integrated Source control and Credential management.
Easy to learn, Easy to read other people's code.
What do you dislike about the product?
Control Room is designed poorly compared some of the other RPA consoles in the market. For example, inability to filter/sort on all columns as and when you may wish, organize schedules into a folder structure, view all historical runs of a schedule with a single click, without having to go to another tab for history and make a search there. Inability to provide an input form to the schedules is something I miss from my experience in another tool, Reading inputs from a text/CSV is not something I personally prefer instead.
It would be good to have some Date formatting/manipulations options. Nesting of Variable operations/ String manipulations/ Date formatting etc is not available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data scraping, Data transformations

What do you like best about the product?
I think it is very intuitive and has a lot of similarities to microsoft office.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot think of any dislikes. We have been able to be creative to automate some pretty impressive things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do reporting for 50+ clients and they all have various methods / formats of deliverying data so the rebots have a schedule of expected files / formats and does the validations that were previously done accross the team. We also do mass communications for people hired.

Benefits of levaraging robots include daily process and a significant reduction in manual tasks.

Automation Anywhere - A perfect RPA Solution

  • February 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its ease of use features and flexibility are the best as compared to other RPA tools. A wide range of commands provide greater coverage of automation possibility. Its metabot features and Screen capturing feature are good. OCR has provided more weightage to AA tool which helps in further meeting the automation requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
The bot creator should also be available in web based so that installations are not required. This will be good to have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the backoffice operations team there are lots of processes around PeopleSoft and other CRM tools which are manual and monotonous. These are set processes which can be automated. So creating RPA bots we have saved quite magnificent number of manual hours and good number of FTE are saved. This in turn has grown the return in terms of ROI.

Easy to Learn - Cumbersome IDE - Worried About AA's IE Dependency for Object Cloning

  • February 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AA is easy to learn if a user has scripting experience. The UI for the editor is clean and makes sense.
What do you dislike about the product?
AA can be difficult to leverage for more modern, dynamic, websites. The ability to navigate a website using CSS would be beneficial as opposed to the current DOMX pathing.

Would also like extra functions in the IDE such as updating all variable names in an automation task, the ability to invoke custom code, a switch/case function so long-winded nested ifs are not needed, to name a few.

With Edge now transitioning to Chromium, I hope AA can have object cloning work natively in the AA application with browsers such as Chrome or Firefox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've automated reporting, metrics and some data entry. If object cloning were stronger on websites such as Fieldglass, Coupa or Ariba, I could leverage AA a lot more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
AA is excellent for basic RPA tasks which involve file manipulation, running SQL for reporting, and sending out scheduled emails. If there is a need for more complicated tasks such as working within Excel, the GSuite, or the many websites out on the internet, workarounds will be required to achieve bot stability.
For example:
In excel, code in VBA exclusively.
In GSuite, code in google script exclusively.
For accessing websites which are dynamic/modern, rely on API's rather than object cloning.

AA is a great tool for native tasks, however when it comes to more complicated tasks which span across different environments (DB, Local, Webservices), a creative developer will need to use AA for what it's great at while also using the appropriate language for the job in tasks AA is not capable of or stable with.

Increases the quality of repetitive and standard process

  • February 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Business Analyst Module of Automation anywhere. This gives more emphasis on the business analyst where it helps to develop the Return on Investment Analysis, Flexibility Analysis and Complexity Analysis in an efficient and effective manner. The Automation anywhere increase the efficiency of the Business Analyst and it has following steps to be followed that it makes a business analyst more broader knowledge about RPA.
What do you dislike about the product?
Automation Anywhere will not capture other languages. and it is only can be implemented if a standard process is being followed. It cannot capture data in certain formats and written documents cannot be automated and it cannot capture signatures.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly we use automation anywhere to solve business process which follow a standard and repetitive process where humans can use the BOT to Automate these activities and the BOT will be doing all these work efficiently and and it has less error Prone and it gives the opportunity for humans to spend more time on decision making and creative innovative solutions to develop new products and compete in the business environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Automation anywhere is a very useful Robotic process Automation Product which is of high quality and it is used to enhance the productivity and efficiency of an organisation, especially a repetitive process and standardized process would be more appropriate to implement the Robotic Process Automation.

What do you like best about the product?
Adding the CSM has helped greatly we meet twice a month, while also having the CSM available to escalate any issues or questions I have has been beneficial to the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially there seemed to be a constant need to upgrade and install hotfixes, within AA there seemed to be a drive to have my team continue to upgrade which in essence felt like we were a POC for AA to test their upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are resolving issues within multiple departments ranging from Finance, Ops and IT.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Agree a pricing structure upfront prior to proceeding that works for you as you grow.

    Financial Services

Probably the best RPA Software in the world :-)

  • February 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Automation Anywhere is a brilliant product. It has been well designed and is easy to pick up even by people who have little to no previous experience. Obviously to build industrial strength bots one needs a full appreciation of stand programming practise, like variables, error handling, using config files to drive code etc. But the important thing is with a good centre of excellence and guidance of experienced individuals you can write simple bots which can automate monotonous tasks quickly and easily freeing up your skilled staff to be able to start using their creative talents again rather than wasting time on boring repetitive tasks.
It has some superb features such as Object Cloning which enables you to capture the properties of things like fields, buttons, list boxes etc within windows applications or even part of websites. These can then be manipulated depending on what they are. For instance, a button can be pressed. A web tables data can be extracted and saved to a csv file. A filter can be turned on in excel.
The most impressive features are the three different recorders. Smart recorder (which does object cloning under the hood but which captures objects as you interact with them in an application or on a website). These actions can then be played back later – potentially at high speed if needed. Web recorder enables you to be able to interact with a website to navigate, capture information, press buttons etc. Finally the screen recorder is available for older applications which can’t use smart or web recorders and this allows interaction with the applications via screen coordinates.
The Web Control room enables management of users, devices, licenses etc and most importantly allows the user to schedule unattended bots throughout
What do you dislike about the product?
There is little to dislike about this product really IMHO. The main gripe which we hear from clients seems to be the fact that AA needs an RDP session to work in an unattended mode. However, given it effectively acts like a ‘person’ it needs to have ‘eyes’ on what it is interacting with, which is what the RDP session allows. This has proven tricky when client's user VDI’s which do not allow RDP sessions by default.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems we have solved with AA have been wide ranging. From assisting with legal documentation (reducing time and improving reliability of data extraction), to improving the throughput of adverse drug reaction cases in a pharmaco-vigilance business which had the potential to actually save lives and to speeding up mortgage applications from 1-2 hrs down to just minutes we have seen dramatic ROI and performance increases for a minimal effort in terms of programming time and huge reductions in time and effort when compared to traditional development in languages such as JAVA or C#
It’s not all rosy and sometimes we’ve faced some difficult environmental issues especially when interacting with some of the cutting-edge Citrix VDI type environments, but even these have been overcome with superb assistance from the extremely knowledgeable AA support staff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get training properly. Yes its easy to use but to get the most out of it you should be looking at a minimum of advanced certification but preferbly Masters Certification

2 years experienced AA developer's review

  • February 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy Debugging methods, IQbots, error handling.
Easy to learn, great support from the AA support team
What do you dislike about the product?
SAP Automation using AA - it can only be done through metabots, easy object cloning is not possible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been part of several Banking projects like reconciliations, etc. AA was really helpful in solving a lot of complex use cases.
