GitLab has implementation flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
Including difficulty control, ironing boards and goals. A number of powerful code checking features that enable collaboration and feedback between staff members. Helps preserve program stability and reliability by saving time and effort in the creation or research work procedure. It excels in program version management because it allows easy control of modifications, branch management and aggregation of efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it can support various combinations, it would be wonderful if they added more tools and services. It sometimes has difficulties in execution in case of a large job or repository load. The interface can sometimes be confusing, especially for novice users. It would be wonderful if they could make the navigation simpler and easier, so people could get started quickly without feeling confused.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab offers version control over the program; collaboration abilities for peer review and documentation capabilities for study institutions. It supports me in managing my code base, collaborating correctly, automating research tasks, and maintaining complete research documentation, which increases productivity and research profits. GitLab is excellent for peer collaboration, automated test runs and version monitoring in software development projects. However, it may be less viable for individual situations, unscheduled projects, or areas with limited technical skills or expertise.

GitLab may be overwhelming for beginners or those seeking a simpler platform due to its abundance of features and options. The platform's extensive documentation, although available, can be challenging to navigate and lacks completeness, potentially causing difficulty in finding specific information.

What do you like best about the product?
From my experience, Gitlab is an All-in-One Platform. Gitlab is allowing to my teams to work on multiple features or bug fixes and merge their changes easily. As well as GitLab provides features like code reviews, issue tracking, and merge requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
Now on days, On the latest version of GitLab, Add some validation like one repository has just five numbers of flock users can create. as well as Upgrading to new versions, especially major releases, may require careful planning it is very hard to update Gitlab
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As per my experience, GitLab has to Allow, after authentication allowing, teams to access, track, and manage code from a single location. And after the new update, they increase the pricing for the plans.

While I typically appreciate GitLab, my personal preference leans towards GitHub. I primarily use GitLab due to work requirements. However, I've experienced occasional instances where GitLab encounters failures, resulting in disrupted pipelines and temporary inability to merge my work for minutes or even hours.

GitLab solves various challenges in software development, benefiting users in multiple ways. It centralizes source code storage, facilitating easy access and collaboration. Great tool for hosting software
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab allows you to host your own instances, and is highly customizable. The web interface is straightforward and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major. Keep improving code analysis features, such as references to function definitions!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use our own instance of GitLab to host some of our code. We have some great integrations with it, including CI and bot helpers. We run CI on our own servers!
Gitlab source code management and devops tooling review
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of GitLab is its community edition, and almost everything can be achieved using the open-source version itself. If you are a startup, it is a great savior.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some users find GitLab to be complex and difficult to set up and configure, and they release new versions a lot, keeping it updated is a big challenge especially when you are managing thousands of users. Performance is not so great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab offers a centralized repository for source code management, making it easier for developers to collaborate on projects. It is a great tool for building IaC platform. CICD and writing CI workflow in in yaml is so effecient. It greatly solved DevOps and DevSecOps challenges.
Best tool for version control
What do you like best about the product?
It's has all the required features for deployment source codes in higher org. Can we use different repos to store code . And allows to integrate with other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some glitches in the app. Sometimes it's not reflecting the correct status of deployment.

Used for deployment of Salesforce codes in higher org with code versioning.

GitLab solves the problems of version control, collaboration, and streamlined DevOps processes, enabling teams to develop and deploy applications more effectively, efficiently, and reliably.
One of the best version management and CI/CD tool out there!
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab seamlessly combines version management using git (code versioning, repository management, branch tracking, merge requests, forks etc.) with a Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipeline. I like its overall UI/UX as well. It does its pretty well. I have been using it for over 4 years now and it has gotten better!
What do you dislike about the product?
Jenkins integration can be improved. I also had some issues while adding my SSH key to GitLab since it didn't work on multiple tries. That process can be streamlined better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab helps our team to develop software comprehensively and meticulously by seamlessly taking care of CI/CD and version management. The UI/UX is great in being minimalist and seems very intuitive as well. I'd like a dark mode feature as well :)
