An Amazing Collaborative Code Development Tool To Our Toolset
What do you like best about the product?
Within the free tier, there is a lot of storage capacity and has user-friendly UI. It allows collaboration while boosting productivity and cutting business costs. If any errors, bringing the team together for one project is really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Analytics should be on dashboards. More thorough documentation for several features would be beneficial like the documentation of CI features need some improvement. SLA tracking requires more precise features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me in automating the build with no versioning issues. Planning tools including issues, task lists, project assignees, and time tracking available to help us to manage projects more quickly and effectively. It provides more secured branches and merges request approvals, merges request drafts, and push request rules.
The best open source code repository platform
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is a very lite repository management tool that doesn't require a high-spec system, and it also contains DevOps workflows and CI/CD tools built-in without any extra manual integration
What do you dislike about the product?
If any experienced ones use GitLab, some terminologies are different compared to GitHub and Bitbucket, which might make them seem like an alien language. As it is free and open-source, there are many bugs that makes the user experience sloppy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab helps with providing code repository services and collaboration with team members. As it is an open-source platform, we have an excellent open-source community that helps us in critical times.
Open source solution to hosting code
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is not only open source, it's free to use for open source projects. It seems more secure than its counterpart GitHub, despite being owned by themselves and having a seemingly smaller footprint.
What do you dislike about the product?
While GitLab is an enterprise product, there are many bugs in the software making the experience quite glitchy. Additionally, the code review workflow is not very well thought out nor polished. I find myself checking out code locally to conduct my own review process, rather than use the UI online.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab is a code hosting and reviewing platform, mixed with continuous integration and continuous deployment features for automated delivery of code. The software helps on the infrastructure side of development so that I can focus on the code itself.
GitLab is a great DevOps platform
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is an excellent DevOps platform for software developers. Using GitLab, we can handle our whole development-to-deployment cycle.
GitLab allows storing our code in repositories. We can create a code deployment life cycle. It is free and open-source.
GitLab allows storing our code in repositories. We can create a code deployment life cycle. It is free and open-source.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though GitLab is free and open-source, it charges a high cost for many enterprise features. Dashboards need improvements; they should show analytics. Other things are good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use GitLab for my software development and deployment. I use Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) for my clients for their development and deployment. It provides free repositories to store our code. It has good branching management. I can use git from the command line to manage the code.

UI is a little bit slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am keeping my code securely in one of the private repositories in GitLab. I can access my code from anywhere and work. Also working in a team environment is very helpful we can get code pushed by others in real time.
Robust and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best about the GitLab client is that it was really easy to start using without previous knowledge of the application. The user interface is really easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. If you are in doubt about how to do something it is easy to find documentation and information on the GitLab website or in general on the internet.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far nothing, it has been really easy to switch from another client without having a big learning curve due to the good design of the application. The GitLab community and staff are helpful when we were wondering about something.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to use GitLab mainly for continuous delivery and continuous deployment. The GitLab client application was one of the top choices for that when looking for an application. We have been able to take this in use since getting GitLab and it has improved our efficiency.
