Comprehensive and Cost-Effective DevOps Product
What do you like best about the product?
Majority of GitLab's capabilities that are beneficial in the daily software development process.
1. The Unlimited number of free-to-create private projects.
2. GitLab makes managing roles and users a very comfortable thing to do.
3. GitLab includes a lot of free features.
4. Everything can be done using any web browser and is easy to navigate between projects.
5. Provides enough security with GPG and SSH keys
6. Give total control to the administrator for steering the version control and project in a future-proof model.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it isn't obvious.
It gets tricky to undo some commands once they are committed.
The review process is also a bit complicated.
There are not many dislikes as the tool itself is a perfect one with all needed for version control and source code management.

It's one of the best DevOps tools for source code management and version control. It's a great tool for continuous Integration for any sized project.
A great version control and project management software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Gitlab allows users to make not only use of the power of Git but also layer project management on top. Creating issues related to specific merge requests glues the two together perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the settings pages could be more intuitive. The number of times I have had to look for settings related to deploy tokens is almost uncountable. It seems to move around a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing a web project can be challenging. Gitlab allows users to not only manage their projects but also work directly on the command line, using standard Git tools.

What do you like best about the product?
It helps in the software development cycle by delivering software faster and efficiently. We can plan, build and deploy software.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's sometimes hard to migrate to a new server. And many of the free features are now restricted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it for version control and DevOps. Gitlab webhook triggers your pipeline within few seconds.

The fact that it's free and the possibility to self host it. The cicd options are great for automating out development process

The licensing options can be a bit expensive for small teams

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to navigate and share projects with contractors. They do not force me to use an SSH key.
What do you dislike about the product?
Searching for a repo that my account is linked to is problematic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to have many contributors work on my projects without worrying about who has access to what. The CI can deploy items to DEV as soon as they are committed without many configurations and add-ons.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have many clients and many projects this is the best product.

It's very simple to use . It's free , you don't have to purchase any subscription. It's secure . You can save as much as you want.

Honestly speaking , there is nothing which you will dislike about GitLab .

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Gitlab integrates with important tools we use for enhancing productivity in the workplace, as well as with vital security tools we use for software development , such as Auth0 and Akismet. By being being able to integrate Gitlab with tools such as the aforementioned , we are deriving enhanced functionality and simply making our activities around software development a lot easier, and efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Code reviews can be more intuitive for first timers. Asides this, I think I am okay with the quality I am deriving from using Gitlab over the years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We basically use Gitlab for coding collaboration, code version history management, continuous deployment / integration, automation for cloud infrastructure , amongst many other uses as it concern our software development processes. As regards benefits, Gitlab has enabled us finish software projects faster and made our software development processes very efficient.

Not only is it a platform for version control, it also has a robust catalog of tools to help manage development teams. You do not need to contract other providers to manage software projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Until recently the only detail was that you couldn't set a dark theme. but that has been solved, for now, it is perfect for me. If I had to improve something, it would be to further develop the task management part
