Updates must be watched for and the changelogs must be read. Since this offers a complete set of functions, quite a few things always change.

As a company, providing a comprehensive solution is sometimes not so easy, but Sophos offers a complete package in this area that goes beyond the firewall and can be easily integrated with other components.

What is most valuable?
Sophos XG is user-friendly, easily configured, and has all the latest features, including URL filtering.
I have used the Synchronized Security feature of Sophos XG along with the Heartbeat functionality, specifically the Security Heartbeat.
The filtering capabilities of Sophos XG are good and I find it user-friendly.
What needs improvement?
An area that could be improved is technical support's ticket registration process. Sometimes when I contact technical support, they do not register the tickets properly. They ask about registered mail ID and registration number when I am already under pressure. For instance, when the internet is not working or when I cannot apply certain rules, I am already stressed, but the tech support did not register the calls. This happened three to four months ago.

I have been using Sophos XG for one year.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
Installing Sophos XG is very easy, with no issues encountered.
The complete installation, including setting up all rules, takes approximately one and a half hours.
What other advice do I have?
I am familiar with Sophos XG.
We have purchased Sophos XG directly through Sophos, though I am not aware of the financial operations regarding the purchase.
I rate the technical support as eight out of ten.
On a scale of one to ten, I rate Sophos XG as eight.

Strong Performance And Integration Define Sophos Solution, Though Cloud Management can be improved
What do you like best about the product?
We really like performance vs price which is really good, tight integration with Sophos solutions and a very clear roadmap for the platform evolution. We really appreciate how easy it is to use and how simple and fast was its implementation.

Cloud management of complex infrastructure must be improved, Waf feauture is obsolete and Ips feature can be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to manage of a complex network infrastructure composed of multiple subnets more than 10 (connected from 40gb to a single gb), on which all security controls are carried out, starting from dns protection and arriving at the inspection via TLS of each packets by applying multiple threat detection controls. Furthermore, integrating with the Sophos MDR suite allows us to mitigate risks that derive from an endpoint compromise. The solution has allowed us to obtain an very good level of security without impacting on performance with an easy but effective management.

What do you like best about the product?
We have used Sophos firewalls for 10 years now and have continued to use them because of their ease of use, their great licensing structure, and their interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only dislike about Sophos Firewall is the support that we receive. We have had some good experiences but sometimes we run into issues where techs don't have good knowledge of the product, and they refuse to escalate tickets. Otherwise we love the product and the hardware and have had great success with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a solution that was scalable to multiple sites was a big factor in choosing a product. Sophos Firewall has the ability to act standalone but can also be deployed in HA, and then you can aggregate multiple sites into Sophos Central for easier management of multiple locations. This was a huge benefit we found for using Sophos Firewall.

Intuitive and Solid Firewall
What do you like best about the product?
Sophos Firewall is incredibly intuitive and makes it easy for less experienced administrators to pick up. It offers good value for the features that it offers which is especially important for small and medium-sized enterprises like us, such as the free integration with Sophos Central that enables streamlined management in the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
The log viewer only allows us to view logs over a very short period of time. To view older logs, we can only do so via the command-line interface. The level of customer support in our region also varies depending on the time that the ticket was opened as Sophos rotates the support between 2 countries, making it a mixed experience at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of use shortens the time needed to tweak the rules and policies when the need arises, such as when new applications are installed in the network or when user access issues occur. The robust security features also ensure that less time is spent to address new security threats. This is especially important for companies that have a limited number of network administrators.
