I believe that Testim.io is present and future of automation

  • August 30, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Testim did great job investigating and addressing all famous automation pain points.
First, they take care of all the "side work" (environments, code libraries, setups, versions, etc.) allowing companies to fully concentrate on increasing testing coverage of their business flows.
Second, being stable, reliable and intuitive solution, it allows achieving impressive outcome quite fast. Following best practices, it is quite easy to build very scalable automation project. There was nothing I couldn't achieve with Testim using it for almost a year by now.
Next, the Smart Locators mechanism proves itself de-facto: UI changes but tests keeps running identifying the elements by alternative identifiers.
Last but not least, reporting tools are highly self explanatory allowing developers to easily analyze failures and release QA bottle neck.

To summarize, Testim.io is quite a robust tool allowing to establish and maintain effective automation using both codeless and coded techniques. It is important to understand, that technical background is required to achieve success in automation project. Record&Play is a great start, however in order to be scalable, following the concepts of programming basics (such as reusable components, parameters, loops and conditions) is essential in order to be able to always extend the coverage rather than spending time on tests' maintenance upon application changes.
Having the availability (and passion 🙂) is all you need in order to succeed with Testim.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are always things to improve to any software and I have a list of my "nice to have" enhancement requests which is being addressed in our Product-Customers channel. None of them is a showstopper.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From my experience with different automation tools in the past I wholeheartedly believe that "Automation is not an auto-magic". To be efficient, it requires investment. And open source automation tools are not that free as it might seem.
I have been dealing for months with all these "around automation" issues - setups, configurations, environment maintenance, and other technical infrastructure which is important because automation won't work if I don't handle that, but the time that was left for really authoring tests which could show actual value was about 20% of my time (not even talking about dealing with locators and other ongoing maintenance).
This is why I truly believe that to bring real value to my company it would be most effective if we hand over this "side-effect headache" to external professionals who will take care of everything but the business flows and we will add coverage much faster.
Testim gives great value for money allowing to deliver high quality software in a shorter time.

Additionally, Testim is more than just software. It is also a community, shared by Testim staff and customers, where we have the opportunity to exchange customers experiences, participate in road map reviews, join various automation expert panels being held on an ongoing basis and this whole thing increases our level of expertise providing the opportunity to share and learn. This professional growth of employees is definitely a gift companies gain from their cooperation with Testim.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have sufficient technical background within the team (or someone to lead the effort), allow sufficient time allocation for automation development (preferably 100%) and make sure your staff is passionate about automation and quality. Having those plus Testim.io - the sky is your limit! :)

Makes regression testing easy

  • September 23, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
TestIM allows users to quickly create and maintain tests through record and playback. The ease of use for this front end automation tool has not been seen since the mid-2000's as web technology made this sort of behavior difficult to work around. Using a coded solution can be brittle and time consuming whereas this tool speeds you through writing and maintaining your tests. It's flexible enough to allow for some coding along with many great features.

Additionally, the customer support is excellent and they get back to you quickly or get fixes in quickly as well. The team is a pleasure to work with
What do you dislike about the product?
My only negative with TestIM is that it's expensive. The price point has my team regularly evaluating TestIM's value in comparison to other test tools available. For now, this has worked out, but it would be nice to have better pricing options available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been mainly smoke testing and regression testing with TestIM. It allows us to focus less time on the testing effort and more time on getting features out the door. Speed has been it's asset, for sure. We're piping results back through Slack so we get notifications about which tests fail.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it's worth the time to review. It's particularly good for users who are not programmers

Testim.io is a game changer for anyone who relies on automated tests

  • September 22, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Testim.io solution simply reduces the time to write test, improves test stability, makes it much easier to detect failure reasons and reduces the time to fix tests.
As a developer I depend on automated testing to ensure I can move fast and not break things, but writing and maintaining tests with most tools today is time consuming and barley effective.
with Testim.io the amount of time and frustration spent on test maintenance is greatly reduced
What do you dislike about the product?
Better tooling around team management, allow to export to code and selector reuse.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating coverage for a large app fast, on boarding developers with little or no knowledge of e2e testing and reducing overall time spent on writing and maintaining tests

Testim.io - the automation tool of the future.

  • September 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Testim's ability to automate almost everything within a short amount of time. Our team is currently using this tool to automate our regression baseline and we have had no complaints. It's straight forward, easy to use and helps our team in many ways. The support is great, quick responses and there is a lot of information in the knowledge base. All of the articles that we have come across are pretty straightforward and if there is any confusion we always reach out to testim support to answer our questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the UI of testim is really clear, there could be some improvements on the flow of creating, updating, removing steps from tests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently reviewing our regression test cases and testim is helping us in updating software platform and at the same time automating these test cases. Testim has saved us a lot of time and will continue to save us more time as they continue to grow and come up with better features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for an automation tool that provides your team time efficiency and ongoing support - use Testim.io!

Testim.io simplifying the challenge of testing flows

  • August 30, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
E2E tests never been an easy task, especially when it comes to more complex websites with multiple flows and actions. testim.io actually simplify this challenge by making you build tests lively on your website and let you the ability to create shared actions that can be reusable in several tests. The integration is very impressive and after you get used to it it comes fluently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes tests are failing without particular reason, sometimes you actually should modify your test to be more accurate or by giving more time to some component to appears on the screen but sometimes you just need to run the test again and it will be pass.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sanity tests on our website become an easy task and we can perform it several times at day without
Investing man-hours.

Intuitive tool to automate your app testing

  • August 28, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Is awesome that with a few clicks and directly on the running app you can record and automate tests for different flows.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no major flaws of the software. It would be good to have more online tutorials and to have the ability to use dynamic data to test different languages for example without having to have a new test.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps detect bugs that are introduced to production without having to have a team that checks every flow each time the app is deployed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for the QA and Automation teams on a medium to large company.

With Testim, I can write automation scripts quickly

  • August 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With a small learning curve, I was successfully writing automation scripts to be run weekly as regression.
What do you dislike about the product?
The icons for each step are too large and take up too much screen real estate. Also, I can't print out my script, and it is challenging to find out which scripts contain a specific step.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Testim, we now have regression suites that are run weekly. With this week's run, there was a failure that led to the creation of a problem report. Running the same test each week allows my team to have greater test coverage for each week's regression run. As new functions are added, it is easy to add new tests and create additional suites of tests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of the free trial to see if Testim meets your organization's needs for automation.
