Preserving M365 Data
What do you like best about the product?
It ensures that even though our data is in Microsoft's Cloud, we are protected in case of rogue actions by one of our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ensuring you get it set up correctly and dealing with coworkers who leave can be a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ensuring that any data our coworkers create and save in OneDrive or in Outlook Online are protected. It helped us recover data from a coworker who left and cleaned up their account for us.

Easy of use
What do you like best about the product?
It was super easy to install and it just works. The management console is similar to the VBR which makes it very easy to administer.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say I have an issue or downside with using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needed a way to keep 7 years worth of mail backed up for historical purposes as well as a way to restore old users' mailboxes or just a specific email that a user needed.
Ease of use and on-prem
What do you like best about the product?
One of the few usable on-prem backup solutions for M365 and it is relatively easy to use and supports most storage methods though you are limited to Object storage only. Reliable backups are a must and this is great at that. The restore functionality is everything you want. You can get down to a single file, mount a backup in an explorer and even search. You can also delegate tasks inside recovery to say a ServiceDesk agent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited backup repository options. Not as robust of a selection as Veeam Backup & Recovery in this way so make sure you have compatible storage or you'll be paying through the nose for AWS. Support is pretty lackluster as of mid-last year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance requirements for data retention and low cost on-prem backups of M365 since Microsoft does not gaurante any retained data.
Veeam Backup is my go to for all backups!!!

Ease of use, support, and functionality are top notch! #1 backup for VMWare and replication to my partners.
What do you dislike about the product?
Self cleanup of removed/deleted accounts. Forces me to create exemptions.

Solved any concerns about backing up my entire 365 organization!
Happy with Veeam protecting Microsoft 365 data

Ease of use and the consistent ability to restore data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing costs can be quite expensive for smaller organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to locally save cloud hosted data.
Cream for O365 is a very capable product that is easy to navigate and configure.
What do you like best about the product?
It's able to backup most of the 365 platform with easy navigation and quick search results. Very simple to get individual pieces or an entire resource restored.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not yet backup the power platform, project, or 1:1 chats.

Storing email records for 6 years and being able to quickly restore data as needed.

Good but separate counterpart to Veeam

It allows full backup and very granular restore options for all Microsoft 365 components

It does not integrate into Veeam itself, but remains a separate backup process and dataset.
Changes to the repository can trigger the need for a new full backup, not recognizing the existing backups.

Veeam cannot backup Microsoft 365 content. Most other backup offerings we investigated don't allow backup to on-premises repositories.
Easy email backup.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use is the best. I also like the ease of setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't care for the fact that I have to supply the resources to back email up.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 solves our backup and recover of accidentally deleted email messages.
Works good enough and worth considering
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the restore process. You can restore items in a backup very granularly, such as restoring a specific email.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to give the service account that enables the backup several admin roles within your environment and the permissions given do not fit the least privilege model.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to backup our most important M365 accounts, including their email and OneDrive. It also allows us to back up our SharePoint sites.
