What do you like best about the product?
We now better understand our cloud compliance with NIST and can more clearly see our gaps. The team is responsive and helpful. They have great instructions on how to remediate non-compliances and vulnerabilities.
We have also deployed some agents and can see vulnerabilities and more visibility of all the packages running on our VMs.
Also it is great that we can use SSO for access.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the layout can be confusing, especially when new policies/ features are added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud environment hardening.

Lacework

What do you like best about the product?
Lacework provides agentless and agent-based introspection into Cloud as well as on-prem environments. Im most impressed by how much it has improved my organization's security posture across our multi-cloud, containerized, and hybrid environments. The platform's automation, continuous monitoring, and deep visibility features are top-notch, helping us detect and fix security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance issues in real time.

One of the most impressive aspects of Lacework is its threat intelligence and behavioral anomaly detection capabilities. It identifies and responds to potential threats before they can do any serious damage, giving us peace of mind knowing our critical assets are protected. Their offer outpaces other products like Orca and Wiz by not soley relying on cloud logs within their detections. You also have the added layer of defense offered by their agent. When your agentless only provider fails to detect sophiticated attackers, maybe you should give this solution a try instead. You will quickly realize that value of having eBPF probe level introspection into your machines activity vs relying log streams.

Lacework continues to iterate and improve on their product consistently over time adding more and more value to their platform. On top of that their customer support and white glove approach to helping you get the most value from the product is best in class. They have an entire training catalog for your infrastructure security teams and SOC to dive into and become proficient within the platform.

To sum it up, Lacework forms the backbone of our Infrastructure Security program as well as acting as a key component to our Vulnerability Management Program as well as SecOps activities within the infra domain. It provides the insights required to successfully meet audit and compliance requirements, contractual obligations, identify policy violations, scan and report vulnerabilities, identify misconfigurations and detect infrastructure access related issues and more. We use this platform daily to make real security happen.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike. Lacework has been pretty amazing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility into Cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Drastic reduction in SIEM spending while surfacing alerts with context that allows us to take action. Lacework is a core component to our security program.

One stop shop for compliance

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of navigation and clarity in the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
While they have an S3 data export process, it would be nice if you could just export event logs from within the dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps with alerting and compliance. If it were also a SIEM, it would be even better.

The analytics from Lacework are very hard to track down as the information is very vague.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard is very well organized, and drilling down to an event is easy. This includes the current enhancements to the dashboard. The improvements are visually appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The events we get from Lacework lack context. We must rely on other solutions and communications with other departments to determine the validity of the alerts and warnings. At that point, they are usually false positives or non-malicious traffic. There is little flexibility to approve or white list traffic deemed non-malicious, and alerts will still be triggered. Our understanding is that this is an architectural constraint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The solution was purchased to help us determine legitimate vs. non-legitimate traffic on our network. As this is not working as anticipated it is not truly benefiting us.

Constatly Worrying about your DevOps security?

What do you like best about the product?
Lacework is the tool that we are using at the Greatminds to detect anomalies, review container security, and threats to the 3rd party packages. This tool is helping us to detect most of the security vulnerabilities and thus making us work on security direction therefore the business can be very much secure!
What do you dislike about the product?
the number of vulnerabilities we see from the tool to our app is always evolving its a constantly arbitrary target that we are trying to eliminate to almost 100% but seems like we will always have to keep on fixing the threats. But I don't think it's a point to dislike. The application needs to be improved per day in terms of security
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lacework is helping us in identifying the business critical security threats to the application. It's a tool on which we can rely in identifying security vulnerabilities and detecting anomalies completely.

Straight to the point, valuable visibility

  • September 28, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lacework provides valuable visibility regarding activities occuring in our environment to help detect malicious interactions that might be happening.

Lacework goes beyond and offers container security, and is a great asset overall for a cloud infrastructure.
Detailed logging and reporting regarding Network and Internal Anomalies.

Valuable vulnerability management visibility inside Containers & Hosts
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not dislike anything at the moment. I would like a cleaner filtering system for container vulnerabilities, but the current state is not bad.

No response capabilities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lacework helps provide visibility and acts well as an IDS. On top of everything, it helps us keep an eye on outdated components within our hosts/containers.

Their alert policies are clear and also offer compliance checks.

Lacework means that we only need a few people to identify and remediate issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacework is still in active development and therefore some elements are still being worked on.

Lacework identifies and alerts on security abnormalities and known vulnerabilities. This constant monitoring and reporting free developers to work on fixing issues.
