The one stop IDE that support almost all programming languages for E2E project lifecycle

What do you like best about the product?
Apart from being a complete IDE that anyone can hope for, it also contains some extra features which enriches it from the free/community edition. I personally used Live Dependency Validation feature which was very useful in finding the library dependency in real time during coding. Apart from these, the ease of use is by far the best advantage you can get from VS Pro 19. Even dedicated IDEs for particular languages felt lacking as compared to VS.

Additionally, VS 19 Pro edition also provides a CodeLens feature which is quite useful for reviewing your code and getting insights of your coding feature. It is quite flexible with one click web deployment and refactoring of code.

It helps in making Windows and O356 apps and many more very easily. We can access the marketplace to download extensions for VS, which I think is an awesome feature. Integration with other softwares is tricky but mangeable.

Customer Support is quite good. CS executives can help you if you get stuck or don't understand how to use a feature. Bug reporting is very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is sometimes slow, all these features are memory intensive and come at a dear cost of your compute power and sweet time. Some time it takes minutes to get ready and load libraries. If you are using it frequently I would suggest not to close it. Leave it in standby mode.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is providing a secure way to run projects and do programming without risking it to external sources.

Powerful and secure development environment

What do you like best about the product?
It helps the team collaborate with each other during the development phase. The extensions help us abstract a lot of our workflows saving developer time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the cost is too much for EC2 instances to run this. There should be a culling like feature that helps us manage the costs. In general cost visibility would be important. It is non trivial to set if up for ML teams
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps our developers get access to a powerful compute instance on the cloud. Helps scale up experiments with ML models.

The Best Editor/IDE I've Used

  • January 26, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As someone that has worked with developers, Visual Studio Pro is the best editor/IDE I've ever used. The different libraries make it simple to use multiple languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need a very high power PC to run Visual Studio Pro efficiently. Otherwise it is a real memory hog. Hopefully this is something Microsoft has fixed going forward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to manage most of the development requirements I deal with, within the same IDE. A lot of time is saved using the features like Deploy and Running Dotnet Applications directly in IIS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're unsure about implementing Visual Studio Pro for your company, I highly recommend downloading it and letting your developers give it a try for a month. Microsoft offers a 30 day trial and you'll almost certainly be asked to implement once they've had a chance to try it. Also most new hires should already be familiar with it.

Image is not up to date

You will need to update the software and do at least 1 reboot (maybe two). Then you will be unable to update Visual Studio because "some file is locked". Pretty disappointing that it isn't updated to the latest version of VStudio 2019 when you get it. Especially considering the price/hour to use the thing.
