Great

  • August 31, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy and fun to use. Stylish and useable.
What do you dislike about the product?
A minor detail is the fact that when registering, it's very common to register the hours in the wrong week. I keep assuming I'm in the current week, but it automatically switches to a different week every once in a while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation and useability have made a dull task more enjoyable. Clear reporting helped giving insights in the project.

A well balanced system which combines ease of use and richness of features

  • August 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use - specially the switching of my view vs company view
Also, the color coding used in the scheduling view is very good
Another good feature is to add multiple holidays/events on a single date, which caters to users working in different locations
What do you dislike about the product?
When in the scheduling view, if the project name is long, and if a resource is assigned to it for a long period, on some weeks, the middle part of the project name is not visible. Only the first 15 or so and the last few characters are visible. This should be corrected.

Also, I would like improvents in the view and functionality in the scenario when a resource is assigned to multiple projects on a single day or has a few hours off and not a full day off
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking of project work
Resource management
Future scheduling and planning specially when dealing with multiple resources, each assigned to more than a project

I don't know how I ever lived without Float!

What do you like best about the product?
Scheduling tab is so responsive - create, drag and drop, copy bookings, reassigning are all super smooth.

Tracking budgets by projects is easy making initial planning of projects a dream.

The Reporting tab is fantastic, with insightful 'out of the box' visualisations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Drill down reporting - specifically with translating work hours to work days and excluding tentative time - could be finessed.

Assigning time budget at task level - or grouping tasks into phases would be a nice feature. Currently phases are visual milestones only.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With 100+ consultants and a fast-maturing pipeline, Float is indispensibe in ensuring we have appropriate capacity of skills and seniority to meet ever-changing project needs.

Simple PM software with room to grow

  • August 31, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float is by far the easiest project management software i've ever used. It provides reliable organisation, tagging and staffing needs that any user can quickly use and adapt to. What I like about Float compared to other software is it focuses on the work week versus project allocation budgets. Adjustments on time blocking, swapping staff, project codes and details are intuitive and minimal clicks. I find this is a well-rounded tool for group timesheet scheduling, holidays, isolating project milestones and holidays to our internal intranet so it complies with our data regulations.
What do you dislike about the product?
1) I often find I/or someone on the team has made edits, they open an existing Float tab or present the pre-loaded Float screen and the changes are not shown. Screen re-loads are not always automatic, which is very frustrating when every manager may need to check the schedule 8-10 times a day and make edits. I don’t have time to also check with every person in the team if the changes are shown and they might need to refresh the screen. There should be constant automatic refreshing for all cloud based apps.

2) When moving a blocks of time sometimes people use larger than 1 week timeframes and editing requires re-building all other weeks after. There should be a quick split or clip function so I don’t need to rebuild 8 weeks if a person only puts 1 block of time start to finish.

3) When adjusting time blocks close to weekends Float always grabs the Saturday or Sunday block instead of the project block and extends everyones weekend on Float and notifies everyone even if you change it back quickly. Weekends/holidays should more locking functions that don’t allow this to happen.

4) We use Float in our weekly catch-up and screen share. When sharing the view is not presented as well as it could be with large scales taking up most of the screen. There should be a presentation mode, collapsed nav bar or way to highlight per person as we go through staffing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staffing and continious updates so all memeber have a collborative online view. Removed the need for a physical staffing board that would always be outdated by the end of the day

New User Satisfied with Transition

  • August 30, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am a new user of Float having recently started work at a company that uses it. I have found the transition from my previous scheduling software to be pretty seemless with minimal difficulty. The user interface is friendly and easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main con that I have experienced is the inability to edit tasks created by others. I am not an admin but run a department and I am unable to edit tasks that I did not create.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float is an easy to use software that helps my department keep track of scheduling, task management, employee time management and tracking phases and production line statuses.

Scheduling visualization projects for a 3D Studio

  • August 30, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is simple to use, very visual and easy. You can quickly schedule projectS in real time with other project managers and collaborators get a notification when they are assigned a project. I like how can you specify tasks within the project, useful for when you have multiple people working on the same project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the ability to tag people in the description section of projects, milestones, etc. At the moment you can't do that.

It would be nice for the phone app to have the ability to create new projects. This can only be done in the web app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You can easily assign requests and the users will quickly know what they are supposed to do for that project. It helps bring clarity and it is easier for admins to track time.
