Reliable and powerful DAM & Image Distribution service with many features and great support
What do you like best about the product?
Cloudinary is an excellent service for Images & Video runtime processing to distribute your content via CDN. The Digital Asset Management (DAM) system is built with an intuitive interface that allows every user, with different technical proficiency, to manage and share assets with stakeholders.
Cloudinary has a solid technical background, and developers build it for developers. It provides many features to process assets on demand when consumed on your site, adding on top a reliable CDN to distribute around the globe your content optimized and transformed as you want and need.
Cloudinary is always improving and listening to your needs and very often you have the chance to talk directly with Product Owners and responsible members to suggest changes and have a open exchange on features and usability.
Last but not least, Cloudinary offers an excellent support service, and with the Platinium Support responses to your questions, doubts and technical issues will come in minutes.

What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to master all the technical features provided by Cloudinary, and they are not always so intuitive to set up and manage. It is definitely recommended to have a technical responsible member in your team to take care of the system because business requirements need to be "translated" in implementation details on the Cloudinary platform.
SDKs and APIs can be improved and in some cases the usage is cumbersome or not intuitive, which means that your development can be slowed down since you need to ask for support to understand the use of some features fully.
DAM feaures can be improved but the company is on it.

DAM feaures can be improved but the company is on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have ultimately handed over the media asset management to a SaaS system, and our developers barely worry about displaying and optimizing media content in our platform. We also simplified the architecture of our ecosystem unifying in a single system DAM and distribution of media.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always involve technical members because it has a steep learning curve in some cases and there're many details to be taken in consideration when setting up your accounts. Ask often support to understand better how to optimize your content delivery.
Great experience & excellent customer service
What do you like best about the product?
We work closely with the Cloudinary team as our DAM and CDN provider, but what has most impressed me is the responsiveness, time, and effort they take to consider all our use cases and how to evolve what we use their tools for. I think their customer service is second to none, thank you Maor and Guillaume! They always make the time and talk us through options/answer any questions we have and we've had frequent calls with them to discuss features, campaigns and future roadmap items.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing to dislike about Cloudinary, we're pleased with the product and service provided!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently our main focus is on improving QA, starting to automate some of it gradually via test & learn. In the future would love to explore machine learning tools for QAing of content. Outside of that the main purpose is as our DAM and CDN provider for all images.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want great service and a team willing to listen and share best practice & help you evolve your content needs then they are the company for you!
Excellent service! Fast, reliable, and secure image CDN with automatic transformations capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Great product! We like photo edit features from URL. It takes some time to learn how to use it, but it has excellent documentation and helpful learning resources.
Great customer support! If We have any questions, the answer comes quickly, and it's always precise - up to a point - with deep thought on the best solution for our issue.

What do you dislike about the product?
WEB GUI for named transformations is not as simple to use, and we can't edit change transformation by editing its URL. Instead, we must use GUI, and sometimes it's not so handy, but it does not affect the day-to-day work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Cloudinary to store and deliver images to multiple systems, including WEB pages and mobile apps. Doing this with Cloudinary allows us to transform photos based on device size and create compositions of numerous images - we use this feature a lot.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent service! Fast, reliable, and secure image and video CDN with automatic transformations capabilities.
Very Effective!
What do you like best about the product?
Helps developers focus on core problems by taking care of the image manipulation work which saves time and headaches for the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Missing features to manage audio assets in the platform to help voice experience designers work with speech/audio data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes it easy to manage the digital assets of a company/application for non-developers
Fast and reliable cloud service
What do you like best about the product?
It's fast and easy to use. Cloudinary provides me with an excellent solution to store and deliver my images and videos, including the ability to transform the files as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admin UI is somewhat simplistic and could look a bit nicer, but it does not affect the day-to-day work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Cloudinary to store and deliver images, videos, and audio to our mobile app. Doing this with Cloudinary allows us to transform images based on device size.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it if you are looking for a fast, reliable, and secure image and video CDN with automatic transformations capabilities.
Great product, excellent customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent: documentation, technical capabilities (especially APIs), support by TAM, customer service response times, transparency in costs
What do you dislike about the product?
Some technical bugs exist (cache invalidations for certain conditions). UI could be improved in some cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Delivering (responsive) media for multiple webshops (both B2C and B2B). Using dynamically generated image overlays.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
All around great experience. Everyone at Cloudinary was kind and eager to support. Great company.
Handy & versatile system for better retail images
What do you like best about the product?
Recommendations to manage bandwith, transformations per image & traffic, thus giving tools to optimize spending
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found a plugin for archiving images to a slow storage in Azure. AWS is supported.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Handling thousands of product images - transforming them automatically on the backend, thus improving our images
Perfect solution for Image and Video hosting, processing and more!
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to get started using Cloudinary; then, from there, it's fantastic to find all the features that improve the image/video pipeline in your app. After having used it for 5+ years, I can't imagine anyone not leveraging Cloudinary!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are few downsides, if any. It requires a bit of a different design process to upload and manage image/video assets, but once started, it's hard to stop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a long time, we managed our own images. Hosting them on our servers, using 3rd party tools to crop, compress, and convert them. These other tools (such as ImageMagick) were great when they worked, but our dev team found themselves troubleshooting odd colorspace issues and having to add additional tools to compress images further. Then yet another tool to handle cropping.
Once we started adding videos, the complexity got unbearable.
Cloudinary in its simplest use case is a CDN, providing better and faster access to users around the world. Just as an easy-to-use CDN, it's worthwhile. Then being able to process images and videos is incredible. Simple transformations such as resizing and cropping is easy. The wide range of processing that is provided is useful for any use case we've been able to throw at it.
More recently, with the increased use of video throughout all industries, processing video with some simple API or URL commands is nothing short of incredible. It was a game-changer for our team with close to zero effort.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get started using Cloudinary as soon as you can. The hardest part of our transition was transitioning existing assets - which Cloudinary does make easy, but always takes time.
Also, take advantage of their support. Tech support is always constructive and quick to provide high-quality responses.

Configuring Cloudinary can be a bit difficult to figure out sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm ensuring every single product page on my website has an optimized image that looks great and increases page speed.
