If you need a Linux operating system that is easy to use and requires very little user training over Windows, Ubuntu is the distribution to go with. Ubuntu has made it easy to switch from Windows to Linux.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ubuntu has tried to abstract too much away from the user. While it is great that they have made things easy to use, i wish they would allow more granular configuration through CLI vs making it more difficult to do in their GUI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Installing and running programs / scripts that require linux and cannot run on Windows. It has allowed us to efficiently run these programs.

Ubuntu, the best known distro?
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu has perhaps the best name recognition systems of any Linux distro. Coupled with vast amounts of community assistance make Ubuntu a strong choice for Linux users at all levels.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional issues with drivers, still a higher level of technical skills the moment you go beyond the most basic usage and the hardcore open-source implementations some-times prevent full performance (especially Nvidia drivers.) There are still some areas where the software is not as good on Linux as on Windows or require alternative packages which are not as polished. I also find that it is not as robust to tinkering as Windows, although this may be linked to my personal experience levels.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Linux is great and very powerful. The level of self-reliance is greater as well.
