Simple, discrete analytics that allow you to rectify problems before they happen
What do you like best about the product?
NewRelic is a very different breed of analytics tool, one that actually allows you to spot issues before they end up hitting your customers. Over my years of using it, I've never come across anything quite like it. The ability to spot failures and very minute errors that could start cropping up in larger clusters has helped eliminate all kinds from total site failure all the way down to database query improvement.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of an ability to very accurately filter this stuff down can sometimes mean you end up with a big data overload, but the tools are good enough to keep everything going. Still, i'd like some kind of heavy-duty query language to look for really obscure event crossovers, and to allow more fine-tuned analytics would be nice. Additionally, there can be some bandwidth issues with larger events sending over additional data, but with some tweaking that tends to be relatively easy to fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The general ability to put so little code into a deployment but reap so many benefits means our return on investment with this tool is massive. The amount of issues it has both solved and been instrumental in preventing means that it has become an integral part of our stack, and indeed an integral part of ensuring that everything continues to run day to day. Overall, coupled with tools like Sentry, these two have the biggest potential to help prevent catastrophe of any set of services we've tried.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that you double-check your implementation before going live, sometimes it may not be working off the bat.
An extremely useful tool that give accurate information to diagnose problems quickly.
What do you like best about the product?
The APM is extremely useful for drilling down on specific transactions and events that happen on our site. Everything from external web requests to services we use all the way to DB queries are processed and it allows us to see where problems exist.
It also integrates with other tools and alerts us when certain thresholds are met that could cause delays or downtime.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the UI can feel a bit cumbersome to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed a big one for us. Trying to make sure our response time is low is extremely important and since we've started monitoring it we've made it a priority. Now, through changes inspired by NewRelic, our response time is sub 150ms.
It gives me in depth knowledge about how software I build is running in production
What do you like best about the product?
The info that New Relic APM gives me: I can really digg into stacktrace to understand what is my performance problem. Alerts are also very nice, they are easy to set and really useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes APM page loading is too slow. Also graphs time ranges are kind of akwart: in main view we might use ranges from 30m to 3months, some other pages only show a maximum of 7days.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing pages that load fast is a major concern in my company, since we advertise real estate. There are several studies showind that fast pages increase conversion. That said, using New Relic really gives the visibility we need to understand what are some perfomance bottlenecks and where we apply improvements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to get a real time view of your app performance, New Relic is a must have.
a great monitor platform
What do you like best about the product?
It allows you to monitor and keep track of your application performance, allowing you to detect and fix performance issues and bugs. Including call trace and database performance review over queries. Another nice feature is the comparison of measures, allowing you to se how performance behave between code changes, or user usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its kind of confusing the measure mechanism and anachronism using to label the levels, the value label should be more self explanatory and maybe even simpler to read. In some cases the configuration for web pages differ on how you should measure, so you need to know this in order to configure your project, that should be automatically setup
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring our e-commerce platform, measuring and comparing performance over stress or bug fixing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will help you to monitor your app and find bottlenecks
Realtime analytics
What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to setup New Relic. And after setting up is amazing the amount of data and information you have at your disposal, for deep analysis.
One of the features I like the most is the Alerts: let's you specify alert conditions, that can be sent through multiple channels (email, Slack, Webhook, etc).

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it feels that the information is overwhelming, too much information at a time. You have to navigate through the site to get to know what to look for, but after that you can get the most of it. This can be easily fixed with proper UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can easily see get notified if something isn't working as expected.

The functionality is simply superb - easy to use and intuitive
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing specific. The functionality provided is just optimal

we are measuring click through rate. You can imagine the volume of data generated. New Relic enables us to get the insights on the fly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Absolutely. Worth the money. The dashboard is intuitive and easy to use. The best part is that it surfaces the right insights at right time at the right place.
Newrelic APM is awesome we use it for our Golang Rest API monitoring and server monitoring

These questions and their answers are oftentimes crucial to your web application's success or failure. If you've never collected performance metrics from your live web app, you're literally running while blindfolded; at some point you're going to hit a wall!

What do you dislike about the product?
Newrelics per hour billing is little expensive and not good for regular enterprise users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we use NewRelic to keep costs down, improve and debug performance problems from the small to the large, and avert potential catastrophes.
We wanted to know our application performance and bottlenecks in database queries so that we can optimize our code to run more efficiently to get more performance in our application stack.

NewRelic Awesome Application performance monitoring tool just go with it
Extensive but expensive
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of useful information, performance and availability alerts. Error aggregation and traces.
What do you dislike about the product?
The prices are rather high. The website tends to be really slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staying on top of performance situation. Reliable alerts to the team. Post-mortem investigations after downtime and other issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Press the sales reps for more affordable pricing. They often do lower the prices if you tell them you can't afford the service at the time.
Good tool to know the bugs/errors in the code.
What do you like best about the product?
It has a comprehensive list of error reports and performance metrics of the system. All this is possible with a single configuration file. It has reports for database, memory, CPU, dom loading, throughput which are highly valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Slightly on the costly side for small companies. Though they provide a light weight solution which is cheaper, it doesn't come with error reports, which is what we are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using to track metrics like performance, transactions, errors on various servers. We see the error logs here and try to fix the problems on our end.
Great straightforward tool easy setup and impressive metrics
What do you like best about the product?
It's a package install and a single line in my settings and it's all running and collecting information.
I have worked with .Net and NodeJS and the instalation simplicity is exactly the same for both platforms.
The metrics are quite impressive as well.
It does a really good instrumentation and the details shown in the dashboards and graphics goes way beyond just a "full request" duration. Details about time spent in external services, database, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
The awesome amount of good information comes with a cost, and for some of our services we were not able to handle the performance cost it causes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quality of the company's webservices. Performance analysis and stability.
It helped us finding out some problems which lead us to find some critical memory leaks.
