Coursera --a great resource for classes!

  • December 13, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Coursera is the variety of courses they offer, and many of them are free of charge! I find it can encourage you to explore courses that you might not usually look into.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the courses are very short! Lots of work to do in a short amount of time. It would be nice to have less work spread out over more weeks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Learning new skills and trying new classes. I have realized the benefit of utilizing resources for free classes and access to education.

Great variety of courses

  • December 13, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The variety of courses, the structure and the user experience. I also like the peer to peer review which brings some external opinion of our work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some courses need updating. They are good but compared to other platforms that deliver high quality videos, some of the courses could do with a refresh. Also the length of the videos. Having shorter, snappier videos would help I think with accompanying text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've managed to upskill in my field
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Freemium model can be a little intrusive and offputting but the quality and variety of courses is worth it.

A great way to brush up and increase your knowledge base of a subject

  • December 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the class I took was self-paced, so I could review the modules on my own time whether it be before work, after work or on the weekends.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a little difficult to stay motivated and complete the whole class since it was self-paced. I would like to see them maybe send out emails if there is some inactivity, to try to get you to log back in and continue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I took an Excel class, to continue my knowledge of Pivot tables and other algorithms you can use Excel for. It was a great resume booster, in addition to my current skills and I think it really showed my interviewers that I am eager to learn and grow, so I ended up getting a job I wanted due to my interest in taking classes like this. I did not take the class to try and get the job I have, but I do feel it did help set me apart from other candidates when I did end up looking for a new career.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great resourse if you have an interest in something, but do not want to take a full college course or go back to college. If you want to stay busy and build some skills casually, this is a great alternative to a college. It also helps boost a resume, as it shows you are genuinely interested in learning new things, and growing.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Online courses from Ivy League professors!

  • December 05, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Coursera offers one of the largest collection of online courses in the world and many of these courses are offered through recorded video lessons by Ivy league professors who teach the same courses to full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Also, the wealth and breadth of courses present make it a revolutionary alternative to attending atypical college courses. Overall, websites like coursera are an important component of the education economy.
What do you dislike about the product?
More courses should involve peer to peer collaboration and teamwork in projects but currently there is not a compulsion on course participants to participate in forum discussions or post their opinions on course questions. This can limit the virtual classroom environment of some courses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The greatest benefit of coursera is access to quality courses on various subjects that you can either browse or dive in deeply. Customizatable, flexible and accessible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a highly recommended tool fort those considering a quick solution to studying quality courses.

Coursera, excellent tool to further education.

  • November 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Layout, content, videos, ease-of-use. I also like the variety of course options and how easy it is to manage classes on your own schedule. Also certificates earned after course completion are able to be linked to your LinkedIn profile.
What do you dislike about the product?
Paying for separate courses, no overall subscription for all content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great way to continue education as well as learn new skills, affordable and easy to do on your own time.

Great plataform, but expensive

  • November 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has great courses from top institutions, like renowned universities. And has great exercices with great feedbacks
What do you dislike about the product?
It is too expensive, you don't get teachers feedback usually and you can take some payed courses, but you can't make the activities, and that a bummer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am improving my curriculum and skills for my freelance work. The courses, even the ones you can't make the exercises, are really good and give a great learning for who is taking the classes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared to spend.

Online education headed in the right direction

  • November 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how these lectures are recorded online which means you can go back anytime to revisit the content. This is convenient because in class lectures you can't go back listen to what the professor said. Also, I love the format of the site. It has a modernized look to it and it's easy to search up classes utilizing the categories they provide you.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about it is that I can't reach the professors with questions about the course. Also, there aren't enough materials for me to practice on. Another issue I have is that some the timing some of these courses were not flexible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are no business problems I am solving with Coursera.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have compiled your own practice materials in order to have more stuff test your knowledge with. Also just because it's an online course don't be lazy with it. Make sure you complete all your work before the deadline!

Experience using online learning with Coursera

  • November 19, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Coursera is, it feels like you are taking classes at your school. They have a really good 'class room' experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to hate about it actually. The place where they can improve is on recommendations and user interface in general.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coursera is solving the problem for a lot of people who want to learn but either don't have the money or the time. For me personally it has been time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Motivate the users to 'stay on learn on'. One of the issues with online learning, which is very commonly heard among in my social network, is that it is hard to keep up even with the social feature they have. Because it is online, it kind of loses a little importance. So, some other way of keeping users motivated.
