While New Relic offers powerful observability features, there are a few areas that could be improved. The pricing model can become expensive for organizations with high data volumes or multiple users, as costs scale quickly with ingestion and retention. Additionally, data retention beyond the default period often incurs extra charges, which can be limiting for teams that need long-term historical analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps solve the challenge of end-to-end visibility across complex application environments. In modern distributed systems, it’s easy for performance issues to go unnoticed until they impact users. New Relic addresses this by providing real-time monitoring, distributed tracing, and detailed error analytics, which allow us to quickly identify bottlenecks and resolve issues before they escalate.

What I appreciate most about New Relic is its unified observability platform. Furthermore, some of the more advanced capabilities may seem daunting to newcomers, especially if they do not have adequate guidance.

This comprehensive view has enabled us to better understand the overall health of our systems. As a result, we have seen a notable reduction in debugging time, enhanced the stability of our releases, and become more proactive in tackling performance issues.

My overall experience with New Relic has been highly positive. I value the intuitive design of most of the interface, and the comprehensive data available has made troubleshooting both quicker and more precise.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main complaint is that certain aspects of the interface can be somewhat clunky, and the pricing has a tendency to increase more quickly than anticipated, depending on how much you use it.

The level of detail available is great when you need to troubleshoot an issue. At times, the sheer amount of information can be a bit overwhelming, and there is certainly a learning curve at first. However, once you become familiar with it, the tool proves to be extremely useful.

Dashboards, APM telemetry and in depth analysis of services and performance. Alerts are set up and triggering is also another good thing.

Sometimes false alerts are triggered causing chaos.

New RElic is helping check Critical application Server Utilization and take action basis suggestions. It helps to setup alerts basis threshold decide. Helping us take necessary action. We have integrated this in PWA as well to check page load time and other performance metrics

Also, the UI, while feature-rich, can feel overwhelming for new users because of the sheer number of options and data points available. Some advanced features require additional configuration, which can take time.

By having visibility into errors and slow transactions, we can optimize code and infrastructure, leading to better user experience and reduced downtime.
