Powerful proxy network for uninterrupted data gathering
What do you like best about the product?
The top feature of Bright Data is how reliable, real time data I can retrieve without having to deal with things like IP blocks. With the large proxy network I can gather valuable data from diverse website without any issue. We like it because it works well with our analysis software and we can collect and use the data for research and business intelligence. All the flexibility that the platform brings is invaluable as it allows us to get the insights we need that much faster and better.
What do you dislike about the product?
The bigguest issue I have with Bright Data is it has a little high priced for smaller teams or companies with less budgets. Setting up can also be tough for people who do not know what the data scraping tools look like. The documentation is good, but it's all still learning curve, so sometimes it drags down things you wanted to implement. Moreover, the platform fails occasionally to achieve acceptable performance with quite large datasets by slowing the speed and reliability of data retrieval.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering data from websites that usually block scraping attempts is one of the main things that Bright Data have helped us solve for. Having a large proxy network means we literally have no problem getting and collecting the data that we need. This all has really sped up our market research process and we get way more diverse and detailed data which then helps us make better decisions and better business strategies.
Effective proxy networks for global data access
What do you like best about the product?
The way Bright Data updates data multiple times a day to keep everything accurate and reliable is what I especially like about it. That's because the sheer amount of proxies can be used to proxy various information concurrently. Over time we've scaled our operations on its ability to handle millions of requests per day, whether tracking competitor prices across regions, or anything else. The biggest value of this, I think, is that it is a simple, dependable, solution to ensuring that we have consistency in our data workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
A disadvantage of Bright Data is its slowness to respond during heavy traffic peaks, which interrupt us. That said, it’s also a little overwhelming at first, only adding more features to a tool we can't focus on what's always most important: the key features we need to utilize. Some times this has delayed the important competitor analysis, which affects timing of decision making and our response to market changes on a couple of occasions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Bright Data, we overcome the obstacle of scraping accurate, diverse data for tracking your competitors. We use its vast proxy network to get our data without getting blocked and help smooth operations. This automates it for us so we can save time and continue to have a steady flow of accurate insights that keep us competitive in our industry. And it has completely changed how we treat and approach data collection and analysis, enabling us to be far more agile in our decision making.
Straightforward experience, solid support
What do you like best about the product?
The service seems to be comprehensive for what I need and the support is responsive and provides good information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their documentation is fairly sparse. More thorough documentation would be beneficial.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Bright Data to conduct research, and it's much easier to use the API to gather the data programmatically than to do it manually through other means.
User-friendly, feature-rich proxy networks and web scraping tools
What do you like best about the product?
Highly reliable service with an extensive network of proxies (both datacenter and residential) and different tools to make web scraping more easy and scalable. Services easy to integrate into any existing pipeline (at least using Python, which is what my experience is limited to). It just works with minimal hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to mention anything, Bright Data could be more (proactively) transparent about processing of user data, such as in the requirement to share passport/id card information when applying for residential proxies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bright Data has helped solve major challenges related to access of data from third countries where internet bottlenecks prevent reliable, high-uptime access to online resources. The scraping browser service has also eliminated challenges related to resource management when using resource-intensive tools like Selenium, while minimizing investment into configuration. Overall, significant parts of my work likely would not be possible without it.
Unlocking antisemitism with Bright Data
What do you like best about the product?
The broad coverage available of social media networks, search engine results and the ability to unlock hard-to-scrape websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some websites that block the proxy IPs - roughly 3% of those attempted. Scraping social media works best with batches of URLs, which limits our ability to do so in real-time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bright data is enabling us to access content from websites that either block attempts to scrape content or require cookies and specific user agents to access the conten.
It is also enabling us to batch-query instagram, facebook and twitter posts together with their supporting media attachments for further AI processing and analysis.

What do you dislike about the product?
If the scraping website servie can be improved to auto deploy given a url, that will be good.

Their APIs to extract social media data greatly reduced manual work.
Reliable and easy-to-implement tool for data collection with excellent support.

What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, I had some difficulty understanding how to set the filter options effectively. However, after receiving an explanation, it became much more straightforward to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in an interdisciplinary research environment where I need to bring together multiple datasets from different sources. Bright Data greatly simplifies my access to these datasets and makes it easy to extract the relevant data. The datasets provided are well organised, which helps me save time and focus on analysis rather than data wrangling. This efficiency has greatly benefited my work.

What do you dislike about the product?
While we wish access could extend beyond just public LinkedIn data, this is a limitation beyond Bright Data's control. That said, the platform is reliable, user-friendly, and provides comprehensive real-time data that keeps our research relevant and impactful.
