Not bad, but there are definitely better options

What do you like best about the product?
The SnapLogic 'Snaps' that are pre-built connectors to services such as Azure and AWS make connectivity to other platforms relatively easy. SnapLogic is easily able to run (in my experience) hundreds of pipelines a day without any troubles.
What do you dislike about the product?
SnapLogic has the feeling of using an older tool. Figuring out if a pipeline is scheduled to run and how a pipeline failed can be difficult. This tool is also pretty specialized, not many people have the knowledge of this tool without training, unlike something like Azure Data Factory. The formatting and user interface of pipelines can be very daunting and difficult to follow when complex, I find other tools easier to follow and understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SnapLogic allows my team to run queries then manipulate that data until we get the information that we need. We can then post these files to SFTP sites or send emails with the files attached. This is all done in the background and saves a lot of time.

easy to understand and grasp the basic processes of. The simple concept and basic "
this is what this product is, and how it works" is essential.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confouding to understand error handing and next steps. Internal shapes, designs, and proprietary processes are not obvious or clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize this product to engage and deploy API processes for clients.

Snaplogic - Intelligent Integration Platform For Seamless Data Integrations And Transformations

  • April 02, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like mostly the seamless data integration of the data and easy to apply transformation logic based on our custom needs.

There are numerous drag-and-drop snaps available to use suitable as per our requirement e.g Redshift Execute, S3 File Read, etc.

It is relatively easy to understand and implement our ETL pipelines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though there are numerous features and useability of Snaplogic IIP, but at the same time there certain points which I dislike at times :
- Snaplex Server Malfunctioning for Long Running pipelines.
- Frequent failures of Redshift Execute snap due to Connection Lost
- Sometimes it is hard to get the Root Cause of failures of pipelines from the error logs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using SnapLogic Intelligent Integration Platform (IIP) to build our custom ETL pipelines based on our client's business requirements for seamless Data Integration and robust transformations.
It is very helpful in terms of creating components to work with Ingesting File Data from Amazon S3 buckets to Redshift with minimal efforts thanks to all the easy-to-use snaps components available to complete the tasks.

With the other tools that we had been using, we were facing challenges in building complex Flow of pipelines and were hard to understand the flow of data. But, with Snaplogic it is now easier to understand and implement complex business requirements pipeline.

What do you like best about the product?
The IIP allows us to prepare files for clients in a variety of formats and from a variety of sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a low code solution that requires a detailed understanding of code to be able to work with effectively. I wish that version control was better for collaborative environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to write to excel files which is crtiical to our clients.

Easy to use, less coding and user-friendly in terms of debugging but not very comprehensive solution

  • March 19, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

It's similar to other tools like Boomi. But, it's a smaller player, not as widely adopted. SnapLogic may be easier to use, with less coding, but I think that more comprehensive solutions will handle a wider range of tasks. I found it difficult to achieve what I needed with SnapLogic.

How has it helped my organization?

We used SnapLogic to integrate various systems and some cloud systems, including our main CRM system and Microsoft Dynamics system. There were also HR and other specialized systems involved. Tools like Boomi can do similar things.

I'd install a local Snaplex (the SnapLogic runtime engine) to access local network resources. With cloud-based Snaps, you can talk to cloud or SaaS systems like Dynamics Online or Salesforce.

What is most valuable?

SnapLogic is more user-friendly than Boomi in terms of debugging. You can move the mouse to a place, and it will record and show the data easily.

With Boomi, you have to double-click, open it, and then choose which information you want to see. Sometimes, you don't know what information will be displayed or what information you're not seeing. You have to have experience with Boomi to be able to understand, but with SnapLogic, it's working.

It offers the same core functionalities as other integration tools. I don't see a clear differentiation. They are all competing in the same market, targeting the same customer base. I think broader technology trends make it harder to see the distinctions that may have existed previously. So, we are moving towards Boomi. We're even exploring Microsoft Azure integration services now.

What needs improvement?

There is room for improvement in customer service and support.

I don't think the support has better knowledge about technologies and tool support. There were lots of times when we had an issue, and it took me quite a long time to explain the problem. I feel like some of the support staff don't know their product well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for five to six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my opinion, SnapLogic is less stable than Boomi. We've had some issues when they upgrade to new versions. Since Boomi is a bigger company, I guess they have more developer support teams deployed.

That's why Boomi has better support and better quality. That's why Boomi's quality is better than SnapLogic. This is just my opinion.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I was the only user in my company. I was the one handling the application.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service and support were okay. Honestly, I don't think the support has better knowledge about technologies and tool support. There were lots of times when we had an issue, and it took me quite a long time to explain the problem. I feel like some of the support staff don't know their product well. That's my impression. They have significant problems understanding and capturing the key points of the problem.

My impression is that the support isn't so knowledgeable. But in the end, by combining their effort with my effort, we were always able to fix the problem. They have to fix problems; otherwise, issues will persist.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used Boomi AtomSphere Integration. It is a marketing leader. It is more comprehensive and can handle a lot of things. We could choose a fully cloud-based version of Boomi. If you want to connect with local sources, a hybrid model is needed.

For me, I found a lot of things difficult to achieve through SnapLogic.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment was very quick, and very easy.

What was our ROI?

If you want to achieve some basic or normal cloud integration and don't want to code, it's a low-cost way to get the job done. The benefit is that you don't need a programming background to work with it - just a quick solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of SnapLogic is much cheaper.

What other advice do I have?

It is an okay product. I would rate it a five out of ten. It is suitable for small company sizes. Maybe for medium-sized as well.

But for enterprise businesses, Boomi might be a better option.
