Great Efficiencies gained - no more re-imaging!

  • March 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We implemented CB a year ago and since then we have almost entirely eliminated the need for re-imaging machines due to malware. Huge time saver for IT and our employees as we have a large remote work force. CB also enables us to quickly identify and remediate malware faster than before
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had the product about a year and we currently do not have any dislikes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have greatly reduced malware in our environment and have greater zero day protection
Recommendations to others considering the product:
easy to use, easy to deploy, easy to manage

Switched to Cb Defense - An excellent decision

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's cloud based and easily manageable. They provided plenty of educational material and reference, and worked with us directly during and after implementation to ensure success and satisfaction.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't run into anything yet that I'm not liking. It's been solid, responsive, and provides more than enough insight, metrics, and endpoint control, as well as deployment options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This protects our user endpoints and provides in-depth information and methods to handle potential threats. It's intuitive and has been a pleasure to use. The dashboard is also informative, easy to access, and gives plenty of both control, and insight.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend them. Based on value, features/functionality, and ease of use, as well as the support and attention we were provided for a successful deployment. I really can't say we ran into many (if any) roadblocks or 'bumps' along the way, and in production.

CB Defense takes AV to the next level

  • July 31, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We recently converted our AV over to Carbon Black Defense and have been nothing short of impressed. Cloud analytics along with the ability to stay on top of zero day attacks take this product the next level. They've really thought this one through as they've implemented a good/better/best approach for their policies within CBD. We worked our way through each of those levels until we were at the best level and I can say that I do feel like it helps tremendously. There are some times you have to go in and whitelist something but I'd rather have it that way than the potential alternative.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally you can see some latency when monitoring the service due to it being in the cloud. We've had some issues rolling this product out into our Citrix Xenapp environment. It appears we are the first xenapp customer for them so they've been working with us to get through some of the initial slowness during logins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are tightening down our controls and environment by integrating a product such as defense into our infrastructure. I've already noticed how many more situations have been prevented than that of our previous AV provider.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We utilized the installation team and that helped tremendously as they worked with us for 8 weeks while setting up and implementing into our environment. We tightened down the settings gradually. I would seriously consider their guidance for implementation.

Easy to use cyber security for anyone

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Super easy installation process, simple to set up for all employees of a mid-size company(200-250)
On the UI end, it's just as simple to use. The icon and program run in the background and no clunky pop-ups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much so far. Would need a little more use time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a small company looking for a not so expensive security option. CB defense filled the void perfectly.

Next-Gen AV

  • September 29, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that CbD is constantly improving it's threat detection and prevention.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I dislike about it so far. The few challenges I've faced are not having a static set of IP addresses to permit workstations through the firewall, and configuring the sensor to use a proxy. We ended up using a forward proxy to mitigate the issue with the dynamic range of servers. If you implement a proxy, after you've installed CbD, you'll have to reinstall the agent in order for the endpoint to utilize the proxy, because it currently has to be configured at the time of install.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CbD offers protection from traditional file-based threats, but we haven't seen much of that for some time now, which is why we decided to migrate to a new solution. It offers much more control over an endpoint than traditional anti-virus. Most of the malware we're seeing comes in the form of scripts and macros that call upon other processes to deliver payloads, and this all happens in flash memory without dropping a file on the hard drive. CbD allows you to really control what applications can call on other processes, and tighten up your security as much as you'd like.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This isn't a set it and forget AV solution, so make sure you're able to commit to spending time analyzing, tuning, and updating the system.

Carbon Black Response is Fantastic

  • September 15, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the process search. Specifically the ability to pivot from a search to looking at modules loaded and what is the parent or grand parent. It is all right there.
What do you dislike about the product?
The amount of history that is available. Also that the larger that you get the most cost prohibitive it becomes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Threat hunting, incident response, and overall network hygene
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tie CB into as much as you can. The more integrations that you have the bigger the payoff.

CB Defense

  • August 25, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Cb Defense gives administrators the ability to really customize the security experience for users or groups that may require different security standards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional disagreement on how some software is classified as suspected malware, but the support team is very helpful in investigating further to reclassify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are enhancing our ability to protect against ransomware, apt groups and 0-day attacks. The additional benefit is that we have greatly enhanced our visibility into our endpoints and can get a better understanding of what users have installed and what is running on these machines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My recommendations to anyone is to test, thoroughly test your business cases and compare to the competitors, this will be the best way to discover if this is a solution that fits your environment.
