LaunchDarkly is an easy to use and expansive tool
What do you like best about the product?
LaunchDarkly allows our teams to infer data from experiments and flag features across both web and native platforms. It has helped us selectively rollout new features and easily measure metrics to those roll outs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall the platform is easy to use, however it would be great to selectively transfer settings such as flags or experiments across different environments or a way to "publish" from a dev/stage environment to production.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LaunchDarkly is able to solve our needs to selectively roll out new features required by brands which have enabled a decoupled engineering and product development from deployment comms with our brands.
Great product which has changed the way we approach software development
What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly Interface, robust permission capabilities, reliable product, great support, extensive documentation
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints so far! Every experience we've had with both the product and the company as a whole has been positive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Launch Darkly was a necessity for migrating our development team to use trunk-based development. Without their software, we wouldn't have been able to complete that initiative. In addition, the "risk-free" deployments have enabled us to deploy code with the peace of mind that we can revert changes and reduce the negative impact on our customers with just the click of a button
Flexible deployment at your finger tips
What do you like best about the product?
Variety of ways to implement launch darkly and utilize its benefits in the ways you need the most
What do you dislike about the product?
Code scanning isnt free (although I understand why is isnt')
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly enabling us to use CI/CD without concern but we are starting to use its targeted population benefits
LaunchDarkly provides a reliable and flexible feature management service.
What do you like best about the product?
Reliable feature management service. Integrates well in DevOps and SaaSOps workflows and tools such as Slack. We had a complicated network setup with edge devices requiring connection to the service, which we could address by implementing an LD proxy service inside our VPC on the cloud side.
What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't found any issues with LaunchDarkly; all our use cases are working as expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for the following use cases: decoupling deployments and releases, rollback of features, improved MTTR, turning features on and off for all users, and trunk-based development.
I liked the vast variety of use cases for launch darkly
What do you like best about the product?
Managing releases is quite a hassle for any modern application, but launch darkly comes in handy. We can release new features way faster without worrying about existing stability.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't dislike anything as such but i feel there is room for improvement in the rollouts management flow. Also i couldn't understand the usage of canary tests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most common problems any modern application faces are managing releases, having a proper CI/CD pipeline, setting up remote toggling of features which launch darkly comes out as very helpful.
Easy and Risk Free deployment
What do you like best about the product?
For me, it is straightforward to manage my feature flags from an interactive UI and keep track of the state of my toggles. It has tons of integration available for use. It's great to use LaunchDarkly with virtually any tech stack. It offers excellent controls for roles and permissions, allowing teams to collaborate effectively with little risk of groups being able to configure features in production for other teams' functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are areas, such as targeting, where I believe the user experience could be improved quite a bit. SSO is an add-on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to turn on/off various features and code paths for specific customers or customer groups. Dev/Staging/Prod switch and separation of control. Fallback control to revert to the old behaviour in case of unwanted issues.
Superb alternative for feature flagging
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use and quick learning curve is the best thing about launchdarkly
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have development demos and more for self service features in coming updates
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
feature flagging is no more just a thing of tech development but business teams can also leverage this.
LaunchDarkly has allowed us to deliver 70x faster than before
What do you like best about the product?
LaunchDarkly is instrumental when it comes to helping engineering and product teams achieve continuous deployment goals. Furthermore, there hasn't been an easier tool to manage feature rollouts to individual customers, customer segments, or just percentages of customers. LaunchDarkly has empowered our product marketing to truly determine when and how to launch new features into the marketplace. No longer do we require date-driven coordinations and can instead focus on building quality software irrespective of code deployments.
Favorite features:
* Ability to cover all types of roll-out scenarios
* Feature flag first where other products are experimentation-first
* Different types of flags (string, bool, JSON)
* Automated scheduling and workflows
* Robust API to build custom processes/experiences on top of
* Triggers for self-healing (e.g,, Datadog alert calls LaunchDarkly to turn off a feature)
* JIRA integration to see flag state from tickets.

What do you dislike about the product?
LaunchDarkly hits most of the desired features in a Feature Flagging tool. What could really set it apart is ...
* SSO is an add-on. Prefer to have services that value security regardless of what tier.
* Having an option between Pro and Enterprise to help those in that growth space. Pro has limited security controls but Enterprise is pricey and hard to move into.
* Would like to see more robust integrations especially for dynamic segments. (e.g., populate a segment based on snowflake query)
* Kill switch tends to trip up new users. ON doesn't always mean its on rather means its serving flag values based on the rules configured. It's possible to have a setup where ON will serve the 'off' variation but that isn't immediately obvious.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LaunchDarkly solves the problem being able to decouple code deployments from feature releases using a variety of roll-out strategies. It has had direct impact in our ability to move from legacy engineering practices to continuous deployment. It has also enable our product/marketing teams to better coordinate when to introduce features into the market place. Probably the biggest benefit it has is that we can now test in production safely without customers being impacted then slow ramp the traffic and watch telemetry to ensure its stable. Having ability to shut off a feature that is unhealthy is really powerful.
Easy to implement (couple of sprints) and very easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
SDK is very easy to use and implement. So far from the POC it seems to work great
What do you dislike about the product?
None. As mentioned above its easy to use and implement
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently doing a POC to add feature flags that will enable turning features on and off easily. POC is successful so far
LaunchDarkly Made Deployment Risk-Free and Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I like the core feature management feature; it is easy to set up and use; it has tons of integration available for use; it has a great built-in audit tools for admin usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it is missing some needed quality-of-life functionalities such as batch apply / delete flags, I also see the need to open up the community to allow us to work on some of our needed features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The deployment stress, flexibilities to allow us control which portion of the users get which portion of the functionalities, easy for us to roll back breaking changes.
