Love LD. Helps our team deliver at scale.
What do you like best about the product?
Highly transparent history & detailed targeting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The logging is very limited. Would love that to be more powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rolling out functionality in different phases in different regions & countries with geographic targetting.
Super simple feature flagging!
What do you like best about the product?
Specifying feature flags down to the individual users for your app and creating new feature flags are created for you for every environment you have created for your applications
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface for a flag can be slightly daunting at first in knowing what on or off is for what API
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Environment-specific rendering of features. A significant benefit is testing features that might function unexpectedly depending on their environment, primarily utilizing a third-party service or API.
Phenomenal tool
What do you like best about the product?
The confidence LD gives me to test in prod
What do you dislike about the product?
So far there isn't anything I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing features in prod, launching features incrementally, and getting feedback from a few early users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Launching a feature for 100% of your users is just not smart when we have better options.
A brilliant way to separate a deployment from a release of new functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of implementation and the power within the tool to target features to individuals and segments based on pretty much any attribute. It's great to use LaunchDarkly with virtually any tech stack. It offers excellent controls for roles and permissions, allowing teams to collaborate effectively with little risk of teams being able to configure features in production for other teams' functionality. Rolling out features and experimenting with new functionality is a brilliant way to safely deliver new value to your products, proving along the way that customers want that feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that can be developed further within LaunchDarkly would be the experimentation data and UI. Gaining insights from the segments of customers used within experiments is tricky as experiment data is collated together, even when separate targeting rules were used to enable a feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are two main value propositions with LaunchDarkly for how we build software: decoupling a deployment from the release of a feature and the ability to experiment before rolling something out 100%. The former point is crucial in reducing any risk of doing deployments and ensures that the Change Failure Rate is low. The latter point allows us to know that customers are interested in the features that we are building. This ensures we can prove value and interest before investing too much time and resources into building them only to find later that they are not as valuable as first thought
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Trial it with a simple demo, such as changing a logo or some text within the production environment. This demo can be shown to stakeholders to prove how quick and powerful the feature flagging functionality can be
LaunchDarkly - Feature flagging Perfected
What do you like best about the product?
LaunchDarkly is amazing for feature flagging with intuitive UI, simple SDK integrations, and well-written documentation.
Not only that, setting up A-B experiments and doing the math for statistically significant results makes it easy to use for Product owners and analysts!
Finally they have great customer service and a very understanding account team so 5/5 stars from me

What do you dislike about the product?
It's slightly misleading that all flags are considered in use while using the ReactSDK but that's because the ReactSDK provides all flags on initialisation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Feature flagging for releases, allowing teams to rapidly develop, deploy and product teams to test and verify their hypothesis
A-B testing done right and simply

Easy to use and awesome product!
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use and suits all the needs. Love it!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of tabs and options that can sometimes make it confusing to find things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Safe rollouts of new features
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just use it!
First Class Developer Experience
What do you like best about the product?
It's literally the easiest platform ever to get up and running. Multiple SDKs for every platform you would like. Real time flag changes with no-latency in client applications. I can't see any reason why anyone would want to handroll feature flags ever again.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the only thing that's a little cumbersome about LD is the permissioning system. It was built to offer infinite flexibility, and I think it's cool that it does, but it's honestly unwieldy. Moreover, it kind of supports the sort of enterprised drudgery that we need less, not more of in the universe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fearless deploys. Instant rollbacks. No code pile up. Targeted deploys by region, by user, by just about anything. Cool react components for codeless site changes like alert banners or messages controlled by PMs, not developers. It's really fantastic.
A must have for any growth stage startup
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of implementatino, reliability.
Interface is clear wether it's a simple A/B test, a targetted group or a more fancy setup

What do you dislike about the product?
I can't seem to find how to get some users to only have access to some workspaces. It's either writer for the whole org or nothing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
2 things :
- experiements : A/B tests, mutli variants
- permanent "feature" flags

User friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The main thing I like is its simple use of UI. Ability to read the API Documentation, explore projects, environments, and feature flags resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
The manual tasks required for adding ID's for production and mobile web applications. If there is the ability to do them at one go, it would save a lot of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly a turning on the feature flags for dev and production sites. A benefit is a quickness of making the feature available.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's very hard to tell what I dislike about LaunchDarkly, but probably they could re-imagine or create a better experience for swtiching project and environment context.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using LaunchDarkly to control feature flags in our backend services. We sometimes use it as a kill switch or sometimes for progressive rollout.
